Authentication - Prompt for password not working?

Hey all,

   Quick question.

We have windows mobile scan guns (MC9190/9200) We have authentication to our AD server turned on.

Logging in works but we have the option set to prompt for password after 10 minutes of non-use. This setting doesn't appear to work. After the user logs in and you leave the scan gun alone it never prompts for the password again. Removed all profiles (except wifi) with the same result.

Is this a known issue? Or am I missing a configuration option?

Thanks,

Chris

Hello Chris,

To get the more information on the issue, Could you please any screenshot where you have configured the Authentication.

Are you using option for Windows User Directory Authentication by creating a profile?

Sure!

I have it set to 1 minute for testing purposes.

Device Admin Password is set.

I have the Windows User Directory Authentication turned on. I am able to sign in with my test credentials.

The issue is that the gun never prompts for credentials again unless I reboot it or remove/reapply the profile.

Windows User Directory Authentication

Hello Chris,

It has been my experience that sometimes the value of 1 isnt enough time to test some features, try increasing it to 3 -5 min.  Nonetheless, you seem to have the necessary requirements for the feature.

I would suggest to open a case with SOTI Support and report the behaviour if it is still not prompting after the first time.

Regards,
