Problems when updating from 15.0.2.1049 to 15.1.2.1035

Hi,

I have trouble upgrading (versions in the subject line) mobicontrol.

When I start the setup file, I am only greeted with an empty error box that I can only confirm with ok and the setup is aborted.

Because of the error being completly blank, I do not have any clue on what the error might be related to.

What I have tried so far (always with the same, non-working result):

  • Executed Setup as .exe
  • Switched system language from German to US English (I thougt, maybe there was no translation for the error)
  • Manually stop all related mobicontrol services, tasks, etc. ... before executing the setup file
  • Rebooted the system

 empty error

The system in question is running Windows 10 with all the latest updates installed.

Any help or clue is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I have not had any problems updating mobicontrol in the past.

Soti MobiControl server needs Microsoft Windows Server, and cannot be installed on Windows 10.

Thank you for your quick and clear feedback.

Is this requirement new? Otherwise I can´t really explan to myself why I have installed and upgraded it successfully.

I´ll try to move the existing install/configuration to a machine running a Windows Server OS.

If someone has a good ressource regarding this topic it would be greatly appreciated.
