Deploying APN settings doesn't work in Zebra TC26, but works for other devices with same Android version

Solved

Hi,

one of our clients wants to be able to deploy APN settings to their TC26 (with Android 10) devices using Soti. They are getting the error "Feature is not supported(APN)" when trying to deploy this setting to a device of this type, but if they try to do the same thing for a Lenovo tablet which also runs Android 10, it works.

Has anyone seen anything similar?

UPDATE: installing the latest LifeGuard (v120) seems to fix the problem.

Try the Zebra OEM config app this should be able to do this.

But you should also open a case at Soti, so they can take a look at this and solve it.

The Zebra TC2n device family is a value tier device that Zebra purposefully limits in functionality relative to the other more feature rich Android devices in their ecosystem. I can't say for sure that APN configurability has been stripped out but I do know through experience that the TC2n is less configurable than other Zebra Android devices and that is by design.

But as you just posted in your link, the APN part is also available vor those devices and it should because this is basic configuration regarding WWAN.
