How can i set File and folder permissions for an app we installed for production

When the device isn't on soti I can change the settings to "allow management of all files" when the device is managed by Soti I can't adjust it, it is greyed out on "Allow access to media only"

Does Soti has access to these files?
Didi you try to change that in Admin mode as well?

Even I'm not sure this will help, try following script:

request_appops_permission MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
 
This will prompt to grant access Mobicontrol to get access to all files and folders. Check if this will have an effect on your app as well (maybe an app reinstallation is required).

Hi Pieter,

Your problem is likely related to the evolving scoped-storage permission model for Android 11+ system architecture/firmware imposed by Google, and not  related to any MDM solution including Soti MobiControl. 

Many apps released by giants such as Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Adobe, ... etc  need to be modified , recompiled  and re-released to conform to the new requirements.  Google  has also been screening non-conformant applications from being uploaded to Google Play store.

Thanks for all the answers, I found a workaround for our Honeywell devices, to add in the deviceconfig the following adjustments

<Section name="Other settings">
<Key name="Grant Run Time Permissions">APPNAME:android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE</Key>
</Section>
