We have about 200 Acer Tablets (Android) being used as time clocks throughout our organization. The time clock company may have to make changes on the server from time to time and it requires the browser to be refreshed. We have Soti Surf locked down so the user basically can't do anything. Using 14.1 version of Soti.
The clocks are basically useless until the website is refreshed so they've been instructed to reboot the clock manually. This is difficult because of the height and the type of mount we are using. I can send a soft reset to these but I believe I need to wait until the clock goes active. If this is true, it makes it difficult to send multiple clocks the same command. Does anyone have any recommendation on how I can go about doing this?
I contacted Soti and they instructed me to try sending a script with the kill_application command and the device doesn't support this command. Ideally - I'd like to have them walk up to the unit, if it presents them with an error, they can refresh and not have to call anyone. If this can't be done, what's the next easiest method to address 200 or so tablets next time we have an issue (hasn't happened in 2 months but twice today)
Thank you in advance.
