Hi,

We have a system where we connect to a 'Staging' SSID so we can connect it to our portal and put it in the correct group etc, we then have a different ssid that it will be connecting to for the rest of time when it is in use by users.

The issue i am having is that the device keeps trying to connect to the original 'Staging' SSID therefore disconnecting from the internet.

Is there anyway to have the devices 'forgot' the staging SSID using either a script or built in feature?

You can try adding a profile with Wifi configuration payload that define the staging SSID+mode+password.  Have the profile deployed to the device, and then revoked. 

If the above doesn't work, the next easiest is just to deploy a profile with Wifi configuration payload that defines the staging SSID but a wrong password or mode settings.  After deploying such profile, the device won't be able to connect to the staging SSID.

What are the device types?  If Zebra you can send mx to remove an existing network profile based on the SSID name

They are Samsung S5e Tablets unfortunately.

Hi Ashley,

If your staging SSID has no password, then you probably should use the second approach with the Wifi payload defining a fictitious Wifi network with a password and non-open mode. Devices deployed with such profile should then not able to get connected to the staging Wifi.
