Displaying Unread SMS Count Bubble / Missed Call Count

Is it possible on the Lockdown screen for it to behave like any Android/iPhone device does when there is a text message you have not read or a phone call you have missed and shows the number over the SMS/Phone icon?

I have the Lockdown pointing to the default Android dialer (com.android.dialer) and using the default icon but when a device misses a call the only indication is the small phone icon in the top taskbar.

Interested if there is a way around this no matter how creative.

I'm pretty sure it's because, the icon on the lockdown doesn't act like the icon from the homescreen (completely different) and because of that doesn't show that bubble.

I guess you may need to grab that number somehow like with an intent or so on some kind of schedule and then show a own created bubble with the relevant number on the lockdown (has to be done in the lockdown template.

But i have no idea how or if that's possible as my research somehow looked like you may need a own written sub-app providing this information for example in an ini or xml file which can then be retrived by the lockdown via JS as a number and then displayed there.

Hey Kane,

Thanks for posting on SOTI pulse. Thanks Rafael for responding to the post, your expertise and willingness to help are greatly appreciated!

Yes like Rafael mentioned you will have to develop or achieve this as MobiControl doesn't yet show notification counts on the icons itself. You can play around with the lockdown template or try to develop a new one which can integrate this. Additionally you can reach out to us and log a case so we can direct you to our Professional Services Team and check if this is possible or achievable.
