Is it possible on the Lockdown screen for it to behave like any Android/iPhone device does when there is a text message you have not read or a phone call you have missed and shows the number over the SMS/Phone icon? I have the Lockdown pointing to the default Android dialer (com.android.dialer) and using the default icon but when a device misses a call the only indication is the small phone icon in the top taskbar. Interested if there is a way around this no matter how creative.
I'm working on creating a custom phone/dialer app. However, I'm having troubles with granting phone role to my app a.k.a. changing the default app for phone calls. Some tech details: We are using MobiControl Version: 15.6.5.1018 Support devices with android 10+. My devices are Zebra and most of them are model TC57x. Devices are in lockdown, showing kiosk dashboard. My app is requesting a phone app role as specified in herehttps://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/role/RoleManager I have blacklisted default phone apps via a Profile, like that: Profile -> Configuration -> App run controlBlacklistPhone - com.android.phoneZebra Phone - com.zebra.phone Then I've used a legacy script to grant all of the permissions to my custom phone app afw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.CALL_PHONE allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.example.dev android.permission.READ_CONTACTS allowrestartagent However, when I do a phone call from my second device my custom phone app is not launched. It's even more interesting, as the locked device does not launch any app for the incoming call. How can I set my custom app to be default phone app?
Hi, We operate Zebra TC57 handhelds managed using Mobicontrol. The Zebra handhelds come with a default phone dialer app - org.codeaurora.dialer Our handhelds are really well locked down (using the various Mobicontrol and StageNow features) except when this dialer is invoked for incoming/outgoing phone calls. The app allows the user to get out to things like bluetooth share, mms messaging, file system, web browser, camera, video, slide show etc. While we could try and disable each of undesired functions the dialer gives access to (for example SOTI Surf is stopping the user's unauthorized browser access), it would be really good to instead provide a really basic phone dialer to make and receive calls. I haven't been able to find anything suitable. Has anyone has any success in loading an alternative basic phone/dialer?, or has any other ideas on locking these functions away from the user? Many thanks, Lindsay Background information- Zebra TC57's are operating standard 4G mobile phone connections (not SIP) Zebra OS is Android 10 GMS (GMS Restricted Mode) (10-16-10 LG90) Mobicontrol client 14.5.4.1016 server 14.2.1.4394 Default phone app - Phone org.codeaurora.dialer v23.0 Use Case- Grocery delivery drivers running locked-down Zebra TC57s, primarily running a delivery & mapping application but occasionally needing to make/receive calls.
Samsung w/Android 10 Settings App Notifications Phone - Everything is "greyed out" except App icon badges. No assigned profiles, or packages, why can't I change this setting and how/where do I get control of this setting and other setting like it?
We are looking to lock phones down to only be able to call one support number. I'd like to use the enrolment of Android Enterprise as it is a lot faster to deploy and the phone call restrictions from Android Plus profile. When attempting this the Android Plus profile is not assigned to the devices. Is it possible to apply this policy to an Android Enterprise phone? Alternatively, is it possible to enrol phones to Android Plus in a way similar to Android Enterprise that reduces any manual configuration of the phone/agent installation?
Hi Is there a way we can add a phone number into Contacts of an Android Device and make it an emergency contact? Scenario I'm trying to cover off is where a user cannot remember their PIN on their device and they need to ring the Service Desk for a password reset. Or is it just going to be a case of issuing instructions to the users on how to do it themselves?
Is it possible to add the phone number to the Android lockdown screen? Nothing is displayed when we add %PHONENUMBER% to the HTML template. MobiControl version is 14.1.Android 5 on Zebra TC75s.
Hi all, I understand that SOTI has a send SMS function, that I'd like to utilize. However, our chosen network provider blocks the functionality that is used to read the number from the SIM itself. Is there any way for me to set the number manually? Or better still import them? I had previously asked our provider to assist, and they imported a list. However, I now recognize this was a custom field "Phone_Number" and as such is not able to be used to access the send SMS functionality. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks, Seb
