Updating TC 57 OS to most recent LG U44, after the update i notice a lot of application is "uninstalled" talked with Zebra support and they are saying its because i enroll my devices through SOTI AFW#, and the apps are not uninstalled it;s hidden. I tried sending a script to enable them but still shows as "uninstalled"

Yes. Your enrollment method is the issue. I do not recommend scripting the re-enablement of the apps as you won't know the comprehensive list of apps and services that have been hidden in order to be able to re-enable them. I highly unenrolling the device, factory reseting it, and re-enrolling using StageNow based Zebra device enrollment. StageNow based enrollment is a lot faster than DPC identifier anyway.

Mahalo for the info that helps confirm my next steps. Really appreciate the help Matt. We tried using Stage Now in the past but due to our stringent security it didn't work for us. To use Stage now do we need to access wifi network? or can i use a USB C to set up/enroll a device?

With StageNow based enrollment you can specify where the device should download the MobiControl Agent from. The easiest option is to use the APK download link hosted on SOTI's website. The device will need a network connection of some kind in order to download this APK during the initial enrollment. This is no different however from needing a network connection for afw#mobicontrol though. With Afw# the device is downloading the agent from the Play Store. With StageNow, you decide where it downloads the APK from, with the SOTI website being the most convenient.

Mahalo for the addtional info. Matt, I have been watching a video we did with Zebra on enrolling with Stage Now and the problem we had and still have is the device needed to connect to Stage Now via network wifi/hotspot or hardline doungle. Our Network does not have any wifi access, any wifi access goes to another network which will not host Stagenow. Is there a work around? Can i use the USB C port? Not sure hard wire would help, if StageNow can't be access via network (wifi/cell data) all devices would need to be set up via hardwire if im understanding this correctly.

The likely problem stems from trying to use the wizard options presented when first launching StageNow. If you instead use "Xpert mode" you can string together any combination of settings into the same StageNow Profile. Using this approach you can select the option for Enroll into an MDM and then select SOTI from the list. This will bypass the forced configuration of a WiFi network and will allow you to specify where the agent should be downloaded from. Your network has to have some sort of network connectivity if you were using afw#mobicontrol as that method will download the SOTI agent from the Public Play Store. If the device does not have access to the Play Store then it can't download the agent and complete that process. Whatever network you were using therefore at least has access to that server and could potentially be open already to the SOTI website where the APKs are publicly hosted as well. If not its a simple firewall rule change to open that kind of access.

Aloha Matt, Mahalo for the follow up. My apologies for using any wrong verbiage I’m not a tech engineer please bear with me. Our devices are on the Verizon network. I understand pulling the SOTI apk from the SOTI server using the Verizon network. My concern is the initial set up. If I set up Stage now on my desk top and create the QR code to enroll our devices; wouldn’t the device need to access the network my desktop is on? If yes that is where my problem lies. I talked with our IT supervisor and was told they will only install onto my desktop and would need to use a dongle and wire. No wi-fi or any web access points. The only thing I can think of is setting it up on my personal desk top at home.

I also recommend use stage now for zebra devices but we did different but this really depends on individual use cases and policys etc..

We have put all devices into Google's Zero-Touch Portal and only generate a Zero-Touch (encrypted) Barcode in Stage Now to provide access to the relevant "enrollment" Wifi. In the ZT Portal you can set then the connection to Soti and also define DPC Extra information for example "provisioning_leave_all_system_apps enabled=true".
I think exactly this dpc is your issue because default value for AFW enrollment is false (as far as i remember). But using this way you have to think of several things (some benefits, some needed connecitons). So, in general if you want to have full control over the entire enrollment procedure etc. i recommend the things Matt alreday said but wanted to let you know all possibilitys.

(The same can be done via ZT-QR-Code enrollment but Zebra devices don't have a QR scanner app installed and available in the welcome screen by default. So, not recommended.)
