Upgrade Android 10 for Zebra TC26 to Android 11 in Mobicontrol

Hi, 

Upgrade by Soti doesn't work for us as specified by Zebra (link: Perform an OS Update Using StageNow Tool or SOTI MobiControl (zebra.com))

Upgrade is working fine by StageNow by two copy file operations (full.zip and payload.upl) + plus running the payload file.

Then I tried a new sync rule with those two files and running the script but upgrade doesn't get initialised.  No error message, only: Script was sent to device (sendintent -b "intent:#Intent;action=com.motorolasolutions.intent.action.UPDATE_PACKAGE;S.file=/sdcard/payload.upl;end")

Do you know someone a solution?

try following script instead:

install_system_update /sdcard/ATLAS_DELTA_UPDATE_02-32-04.00-OG-U09-STD.zip
 
for sure change to correct path and file name

Hi, 

I created the rule and applied on one of our Zebra devices for test purposes. Then I insert the command (install_system_update /sdcard/TC26-os13.zip) in the script to be executed after the zip is downloaded on the sdcard. The upgrade of Android went fine but we got a factory resetted device. What am I missing here?

What is also an Idea is to use the StageNOW and create there the Upgrade / Update Process and Create then a Package in packagestudio.

We have generated a Stage Now Profile that includes:

1. Download the Update zip from an FTP Server to the device

-> that Step is Downloading the File "TC26-A11.zip"

2. is installing the Update 

3. Restart the Scanner after finishing

Then i export that from Stage now for MDM and use that XML in the Packagestudio.

With the Post-Install Command:

mxconfig /sdcard/FullA11-TC26.xml

Reason why we use "TC26-A11.zip" for the Full is to not need to rework evertime the Profile in StageNow + create a new Package in the Package Studio.

We only change in the Profile the "Filter" on which Conditions the Full Package will be installed on the Device.

Like: manufactor= zebra and OEMVersion is not starting with 11-38-02.00-RG

We do it also for the Incremental Updates like "INC-A11-TC26.zip" same way with other filter

With that Process i can get shure when the FUll or Incemental is getting installed on the Device and i see imidently when it was failing or pending.
