Enable App Notification Sound in Lockdown without enabling status bar

Currently, we have two messaging applications that will only alert if a message is sent when either in admin mode, application is open, or if we allow the status bar expansion.  We don't want to allow the status bar expansion since users could inadvertantly disable wifi or change settings.  Is there a way to enable the sound notifications while still locking down the status bar?  We are using Zebra TC52 devices with Andriod 8.1.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

You can achieve what you're looking for using the configurations of the Native Lockdown. It is however not possible using Android 8 as those native lockdown features and their respective configurations were not added into Android until 9+. You'd need to upgrade your TC52 to a higher OS version first before being able to take advantage of these configurations. You're likely overdue for that anyway considering the TC52 now supports Android 14. You're on a considerably outdated and no longer supported OS version for that device.
