Hello everyone,
I need some help with a specific requirement. I would like to restrict certain settings on Android devices.
For example, users should be able to access the "Apps & Notifications" section, but they should not be allowed to make any changes there; they should only be able to view the settings. In all other settings sections, they should be able to make changes normally.
Is it possible to achieve this using a script or a similar method?
Not that i know of.
You can block access to for example Wifi settings or settings in general but i haven't heard of a possibility to (for ex.) block entire settings but grant access to menu A and B. Maybe someone has a workaround for this but haven't heard of any yet.
And especially what you want is even one step further: To grant them only "view" permission instead of "write" permission to those menus. I'm pretty sure, there's nothing covering this as this is nothing considered by Android.
Thank you for your comment. It’s not urgent; I was just curious and wanted to ask if it might be possible.
You can achieve some restrictions via OEMConfig, if your device model has one. Not exactly like you want it, but there are some configurations that can be achieved (like Restricted Settings menu)
Every oem has it's own configurations, so a starting point will be to look into that.
