Hey there,

I am currently enrolling MX3300x's to our environment and everything seems to be fine but we are getting a message at the bottom of the screen of our kiosk mode saying the following: server policies restricts the use of feature auto_time" then it disappears. I don't know if these will interrupt our users from their tasks but I would like to get rid of the message altogether. It seems to be enrolling at the current time. Not sure where the issue lies.

Could you please show a screenshot showing exactly the full message about this "auto_time" issue?

Have you deployed any feature control profile payload to the device?

If so, is the option  "

There is no feature control policy deployed on this profile.

Hi Joe,

To get rid of this error, You can un enroll and re enroll the device. Please let us know if this fixes it.
I would also advise you create support case with us to fix this particular issue.

If this resolves your query, please mark this post as the solution. Also, feel free to reach out if you need clarification or have any questions.

We had this message/issue in our Environment. We recently figured out the cause of it.

We have always pushed out Auto Time and NTP server settings to our Zebra devices through MobiConrol and mxconfig. This year we upgraded our devices to Android 11 from Android 8 and recently discovered that the Auto Time setting had been disabled. I tried enabling it again through mxconfig and that's when I saw the message: "server policies restricts the use of feature auto_time" for the first time on a device. I also tried manually to switch on the Auto Time setting but the device disabled it again right away.

What we found out was that we had an active Time Synchronization configuration under Advanced Configurations for all of our devices in MobiControl. This settings overrides the Auto Time setting on our devices and thus the message appears when you try to activate it through a mxconfig for example. We deactivated the Time Synchronization setting and now the message no longer appears when enabling Auto Time and it stays enabled. The Time Synchronization setting did not seem to affect devices with an older OS, Android 8 in this case, and that is why we didn't have the issue when on Android 8.

Hope this might help you or someone else stumbling upon this thread.
