SOTI battery plugin, battery serial to ini/txt file

Hi.

I use Honewyell XT socket plugin so it is possible to view battery information like serial number in Xsight.

I would like to add serialnumber as custom data in mobicontrol panel. Then I could create a signal rule that would e.g. display a message when a battery that shouldn't be there or is damaged is put into the device.

Is there a way to use xSight data in Mobicontrol?

Hi Łukasz,

Thanks for posting on SOTI Pulse.

You can use data from xSight, including battery information like the serial number, within SOTI MobiControl. To do this, you can register custom data fields in MobiControl and set signal rules based on that data.

Steps to Add Custom Data in MobiControl:

  1. Set Up Custom Data Fields:

    • In the MobiControl console, navigate to the policy or configuration settings for your devices.
    • Add a custom data field for the battery serial number if that option is available.
  2. Integrate xSight Data:

    • Ensure the Honeywell XT socket plugin is correctly configured to gather battery data, including serial numbers, from devices enrolled in xSight.
    • After setting up your xSight, link it with MobiControl by ensuring that the information is flowing between both systems. This typically involves configuring specific integration settings in both platforms.
  3. Create a Signal Rule:

    • Once the custom data fields are populated with the battery serial numbers, go to the "Signal" section in MobiControl.
    • Here, you can create a signal rule that triggers notifications or messages based on the conditions you define, such as when an unexpected or damaged battery serial number is detected.
