Hi. I use Honewyell XT socket plugin so it is possible to view battery information like serial number in Xsight. I would like to add serialnumber as custom data in mobicontrol panel. Then I could create a signal rule that would e.g. display a message when a battery that shouldn't be there or is damaged is put into the device. Is there a way to use xSight data in Mobicontrol?

Hi, I've noticed that my custom data is no longer working on our new devices (TC57X Android 10). From the logs: "Error message received from device (Unable to read file at specified path: /internal/PIN.ini)" This custom data rule works on the older devices; TC55 Android+ and TC56 Android Enterprise. I'm guessing it's an Android security thing, not allowing access to the internal storage? The file is in the only internal storage location accessible: "/sdcard/" Device TC57X OS 10 Agent 15.0.0.1110 MC v15.4 Custom Data Name: PIN Build Type: INI File INI File name /internal/PIN.ini Section Name: PIN Value Name: PIN Data type: STRING We also use the Custom Data to rename the devices (also not working), for this the INI file has the HW Serials as the Section name and the value is the easier to read device name. We have to integrate some Android 10 and 11 solutions to our environment. There are some solutions which parameters we would like to set by MC console. Some of this parameter demand information that is available by MACROS as %IMEI% or by custom data. I could not find a way to create a .ini file or .xml file in the device that could receive such values, but we may see the information reaches the device, because in the lock down menu it shows as passed. Is there a way to an app request to MC agent a custom attribute or values such IMEI ? Is there a way, by script ou rule, to write a file, which content includes the IMEI and Custom:Data? Up to now, my solution has been to create a filesync rule and, by its post sync script, rename it to the %IMEI%.xxx (%IMEI% could be any macro I want to share, including custom attributes or custom data) The application in the device searchs for the .xxx file and by checking its name finds what would be the content. Other way was to pass it by send intent command, but I could not find how to do it in the lockdown launchers. If there were a way to the app inquire directly to the MC agent, it would be better.
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I have set up a test device with custom data and I can see the fields under the device details screen but no values. The values do however show up under the collected data tab. I'd like to be able to see these values reflected on the device details screen also
Hi I wonder if you can help me we have been using custom data on Samsung Xcovers to display information about out app in soti for about 12 months with no issue however around 4pm yesterday the custom data stopped displaying within the fields on the portal. When i look at the logs there is the following error message. Error message received from device (Failed to parse XML file(SAXException) /storage/emulated/0/Documents/XXXXXXX.xml (filename masked)
Currently using MobiControl version 14.3.3.1111 where we have some custom data setup for the devices. Around half of the devices do not show custom data and I am wanting to search just for these. However there is no search parameter for "Is Blank", "IsNull" or similar. Is there a way to search for these devices that anyone is aware of please? Thanks all
Hi, I'm able to populate custom data from an ini file when I set it on the item level, in this case windows classic units, but not when the same rules are set on the group level. Tested on both MC 14.4.4 and 15.0.2. Is this by design, or am I missing something?
We have an all Android for Work tablet environment. We have asset tags that will be using an alpha-numeric string of characters such as "Device 001" etc. How can I associate one of these asset tags to a device in my Soti console either during enrollment or after the device is enrolled? I saw the Custom Data field option, but the instructions for using those 3 fields read to me like they can only be associated to a data point already on the devices. Ideally, I'd like a field I can upload a CSV file or similar to because I am going to need to associate multiple thousands of devices & asset tags to each other.
MobiControl 14.1.2 It seems like custom data has quit updating on my instance. Old values that I have removed are still showing in the console and new values are not updating? Anyone have any ideas? I am trying to get some time with my SOTI SE to discuss. Thanks,
First off my ultimate intentions is to have one barcode that loads all Zebra devices. Doesn't matter if it is a ET50, TC70X, or a TC50. With that in mind I have setup the add rule to drop all devices into a Stage folder. My goal is to setup a device relocation based on the device model. Unfortunately IP and Custom Data are the only option to trigger relocation rules (Soti PLEASE make this more flexible in future!). I could use the Custom Data, but the only way to fill a custom data feild is through an INI or XML file off of the device (again FLEXIBILITY please...). So at this point i'm thinking a file sync rule with a custom script post file sync that will take the %MODEL% and write it to an ini file on the android device. Then I can tie the custom attribute to that file and pull back what was written into that ini. FYI - I have this working on WinMobile devices since there are ini files built in that include the device model. I am very weak at writing soti scripts and am wondering if i'm on the right track before I spend a bunch of time writing the script. Is there an easier way? Will this work at all?

In the web console, I am trying to sort a group based on information from a custom data rule. The custom data is a route number, and I have it set up to collect the data as an integer not a string. However, when I sort the group based on the route number column, it treats the number as text. For example it will sort the route numbers like this: 1, 11, 2, 21, 3, 31. What I would expect from sorting integers it to have it sort like this: 1, 2, 3, 11, 21, 31. Is there a way to have the group sorting act in this fashion? I am using MobiControl 13.4.0.4962. The devices each have an ini file with the route number information. A data collection rule takes that info and assigns it to the device in the web console.
Hello, I know in MobiControl 13 you can set up a Filter Criteria with Custom Data for deploying Profiles. Is this funcionality also available in MobiControl Version 10?
