Issues with Modern Enrollment installing Agent

We have noticed new devices being enrolled with Modern Enrollment using the automated PPKG is not installing the soti agent. We have let the devices sit for over an hour and they never seem to install the agent.

They are Windows 11 Pro 24H2 devices.

We can see them populate in MobiControl web console but never come online.

Has anyone else experienced this?

What do you mean by  "never seem to install the agent" ?   Have you ever successfully enrolled  and managed any Windows-Modern devices of different device models/Windows OS versions before?   Unlike Android/Apple/Windows-Classics device platform, there is no visible device-agent icon on the home screen for any enrolled Windows-Modern device.

On your device, have you checked the tab "Settings -> Accounts -> Access work or school" for any item "Connected to MobiControl MDM"  and status/info of your PPKG in the "Add or remove a provisioning package"  sub-tab?

As you can see the device populated in your MobiControl web console, have you tested sending any device action or deploying/revoking any profile policy?  If so, are such test results positive?

Hi Jacob,

If you can share the error message that would help, but I've faced similar issues earlier, you may check following for one of your test device to enroll it.

  • Open Regedit.
  • Navigate to "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Enrollments".
  • Change the value of "ExternallyManaged" from 1 to 0.

I hope it helps
