Zebra TC26 - provisioning,

Hi

We have got a Zebra TC26 device for test purpose, I would like to ask what (best) ways is there for provisioning the device for our SOTI Mobicontrol 14.4.9? barcode scanning?

Is there any how-to guide maybe?

We would like to run the device in lockdown-mode outside of google play services.

Also I could not see any agent for Android Plus (Android Classic) on soti.net/oem for this model??

at least the device is telling me that the agents are not compatible..

We use Zero-Touch from Google, so if you have a device with SIM-Card inserted, just to tap through the options.

If you have a device with only Wifi you have to Scan a StageNow Zero-Touch Barcode, so the device is getting the Wifi setup and then acts like the device with SIM-Card.

But as you don't want to use google services, there should only the way to do it via stage now with side load of the app.

You should get the app here: https://docs.soti.net/mobicontrolagentdownloads/

If there's none for your version use the one which is lower but as close to your version number.

Maybe this: https://downloads.soti.net/apk/v1447/Zebra/ZebraMobiControl1447_1084.apk

And the plugin: https://downloads.soti.net/apk/v11610/Zebra/Zebra_sotienterprisefullmdm_1.16.10.121.apk

You have to use Android Enterprise based management with that device, Android Classic (Device Administrator) is not an option for Any Zebra device running Android 8 or higher.

StageNow based enrollment is my primary recommendation for Zebra Android devices. You can create a StageNow profile that will connect the device to a staging wifi network, download the agent from the publicly hosted link on the SOTI website, and then install, and set the APK as DO all with 1-2 barcode scans. Then you can have the same Profile also configured to launch the SOTI agent automatically after install and from there you can scan another barcode containing your enrollment ID. You could even get more technical with it and download an enrollment rule INI along with the MobiControl APK download but you'd have to host it somewhere and that starts to add complexity. All in you should be able to enroll the device in 3-4 total barcode scans from a completely out of box state. I've found that "Zero Touch" enrollment in comparison is more like 10-14 taps on screen for enrollment and requires separate management of the devices in the ZTE portal.

- Barcode 1: Bypass the GMS Setup Wizard

- Barcode 2-3: Connect to Wifi & Download & Install SOTI AE agent

- Barcode 4 - Enrollment ID for SOTI
