Hello,

in our Company we are using Zebra TC52 with Android10. Now i want to integrate a Testdevice in our Mobicontrol15 Environment.

Somebody know which is the correct Agent? I tried all Zebra Agents in different Versions. After Installation I get the prompt: The Version of SotiMC is not comaptible withe the device". When I install really old Versions I dont get the Error, but the App closes directly after the start.

Is here a solution?

Thanks in advance!

You need the generic Android Enterprise agent + the Zebra Plugin after enrollment as all Zebra android devices on Android 8 (Oreo) and higher need to be managed under Android Enterprise in SOTI.

The enrollment method will also make a big difference for Android Enterprise as there are different use cases. You can't simply download and install the agent manually on a device as that will put it in a mode called Work Profile that is better suited for BYOD. Most Zebra Android devices are mission critical / line of business so Work Managed / Device Owner is the AE management principal you're looking for. Zebra's StageNow tool offers the most streamlined method for AEDO enrollment of Zebra devices into SOTI servers in my opinion and it is where I would recommend you start. Note that if you are already using the TC52s and they are not under management then you will need to first factory reset them before they can be unenrolled as AEDO. This is not a limitation of SOTI but rather a principal of AEDO management that is applicable to all EMM vendors implementing that standard defined by Google.

Before you get too far, you probably need some foundational knowledge on Android Enterprise and its concepts before you try to apply them to SOTI specifically.

Without fully understanding AE you would probably inadvertently enroll the device under Work Profile and then be disappointed at how little you could actually manage and then would falsely assume that was a limitation of SOTI rather than it being a limitation of the management principal you were leveraging. Read up on Android Enterprise, understand the foundational principals, then come back to MobiControl to see how it is implemented.

Tkanks for your Answer Matt, that sounds like a lot of work. I will look to Stage Now and also the Androd Enterpise System.
If there are any Questions I will contact you.
