On devices running iOS 18, AirDrop is unable to receive files when an Application Run Control profile is applied. This behavior is specific to iOS 18 and does not occur on devices running iOS 17 or earlier, where AirDrop continues to function as expected with the same profile configuration.
Workarounds
To enable AirDrop functionality on iOS 18 devices with an Application Run Control profile applied, follow the steps below:
- Add AirDrop to the profile whitelist by including the following bundle identifier:
com.apple.Sharing.AirDropUI - Save the updated profile.
- Reassign the modified profile to the affected devices.
Applying this change ensures that AirDrop is not restricted by the profile, allowing the device to successfully receive files.
