Issue Description

The SOTI Xtreme Hub server repeatedly downloads package files from the Deployment Server, even though these files have already been downloaded.

This behavior typically occurs after the device disconnects from and then reconnects to SOTI MobiControl.

Environment

This issue was observed after upgrading to SOTI MobiControl version 2024.1.2 and updating the SOTI Xtreme Hub agents to the corresponding version.

Symptoms

Packages are repeatedly re-downloaded to Xtreme Hub devices, particularly after the devices disconnect and reconnect.

This behavior increases load on the Deployment Server(s), Xtreme Hub servers, and the customer’s network, as large files are continuously transferred.

Cause

The Deployment Server sends packages to the SOTI Xtreme Hub by checking whether the files already exist and match those on the device. This verification relies on the file size and last modified date stored in the fileinfo table.

In this version, a defect in the verification process causes the Deployment Server to incorrectly identify packages as missing, resulting in unnecessary re-deployment.

Issue Resolution

Upgrade to one of the fixed versions of SOTI MobiControl: 2025.0.3, 2025.1.0, or 2026.
