Issue Description

Devices do not appear in the assign window when assigning a newly created profile.

Environment

All SOTI MobiControl versions.

Symptoms

  • Newly created profiles list device groups in the Assign window, but no devices appear.
  • Selecting a group does not apply the profile to any targeted devices.
  • Refreshing the list does not populate devices.
  • Previously assigned profiles display devices for individual selection.

Cause

The primary cause is often a mismatch between the profile type and the devices.

Issue Resolution

Ensure that the profile you are attempting to assign matches the kind of devices you are managing. There are different profiles for different types of devices:

  • Android Enterprise: Intended for devices enrolled as Android Enterprise.
  • Classic: Designed for devices not enrolled as Android Enterprise.

When profiles are mismatched, such as assigning an Android Enterprise profile to non-Enterprise devices or a Classic profile to Android Enterprise devices, the devices will not appear in the list. To successfully assign a profile, you must ensure compatibility between the profile and the type of device enrollment.
