Stop and Restart Windows Audio Service

Windows Audio Service manages all audio devices and ensures sound functionality on Windows devices. While it starts automatically, occasional glitches may cause it to stop working. Restarting the service with a simple script can resolve the issue. With SOTI MobiControl, admins can remotely execute scripts to fix audio problems on Windows devices.

  • It is recommended to test the script on a local/ test machine for its purpose and effects. 
  • SOTI MobiControl will not be responsible for any damage/loss to the data/setup based on the behavior of the script.

Restart windows audio service

1 Restart-Service audiosrv
2 Write-Host “Windows Audio Service restarted successfully.”
