Upgrading the SOTI XSight Agent after Server Upgrade

Situation
After the SOTI XSight version upgrade, devices are still running on an older version of the SOTI XSight agent. Administrators can generate and push the new agent to enrolled devices, enabling an update to be carried out quickly and without downtime.
Environment
This process applies to all versions of SOTI XSight.
Process Description
1. Log in to the SOTI XSight web console. Once logged in, select the main menu on the top left.
2. Select Generate XSight Agent.
3. A new window will appear. Choose the appropriate platform (Android or Windows) and the SOTI MobiControl instance. The newest SOTI XSight agent version will already be pre-selected.
Optional: If the chat agent is also required for the SOTI XSight Agent, the toggle for the chat agent can also be selected here.
Important: The SOTI XSight chat service must have been included during the SOTI XSight installation on the server else the toggle cannot be enabled.
4. Configure required advanced settings if required.
5. Select Publish.
6. Log in to the SOTI MobiControl web console and navigate to the packages tab from the main menu.
7. The SOTI XSight agent for the Android Plus or Windows family will be visible with the latest version that was just created in SOTI XSight.
8. Choose profiles from the main menu and navigate to the existing SOTI XSight agent profile.
9. Select the edit button in the navigation bar to edit the profile.
10. Navigate to the packages tab, and under the XSight agent version dropdown, choose the newest version, which will be at the very top of the list.
11. Select Save and Assign to assign the profile to your devices.
Note: This step-by-step guide shows the process for Android devices. However, the process is identical for Windows devices too.
Verification and Validation
The SOTI XSight agent has now been updated on the enrolled devices.
