Android 11 Scoped storage blocking Package and File Sync Rules

Hi All,  I'm running into this issue. I have Samsung devices S10e and A11 devices. They have Ivanti's Velocity installed and some other custom apps installed. Both Velocity and the custom app are using the new Android Scoped storage standard for file storage by using the paths  "%sdcard%\Android\data\com.wavelink.velocity\files\" and "%sdcard%\Android\data\com.mycompany/myapplicaiton\files\"  respectively. Both apps are looking to find their config files in the \files\ directory. I'm trying to build either a file sync rule or a package to deliver the files to the application \files\ folder and both are failing. If it try to browse these folders using SOTI remote control I cannot get past the "%sdcard%\Android\data" directory.  Both the S10e and A11 are running Android 11. If I try this on the same devices running Android 10 I have no issues. This obvisoly has to do with Android changing the scope of permissions for file access, but shouldn't a Device Owner DPC agent have full rights to that storage location? This is a major disruption as to how SOTI can function as Apps are now being forced to move their configurations to support scoped storage, but the MDM's are not being provided access to configure them.   I understand that App config, can potentially be used for some work arounds, but this will only help in certain situations. The majority of clients rely on the flexibility of File Sync and Packages for configuration.  Has anyone experienced this and have a solution? Thanks DAN

Remote Control missing on some devices Solved Locked

Hi all, We have a number of Zebra TC21 devices on a version 15 SOTI cloud all on same agent (14.4.4.1051). I have some devices that don't have the Remote Control. Even though these are the same devices, same build version etc. and the enrolment rule(s) are the same other than the device name and deployment target folders. Some have APIs: * RC Virtual Display, Work Managed Device, Android Zebra EMDK, Android Plus 1.6 * Zebra RC, Work Managed Device, Android Zebra EMDK * Remote View, Work Profile Any ideas why the differences, would have thought they would all have the same supported APIs, and therefore all have remote control. Thanks for any pointer. Gary

    Shared device unavailable

Hi all!Any thoughts on possible causes for our devices not being able to login as a shared device with the following notification: Login/logout ability is currently unavailable. Please make sure your device has an active internet connection. We're using Azure AD for the accounts and the account seems to be accepted but the device stops at this notification. Internet connection is there as we are able to login to Azure AD.

    TC56 > APN Issue

Hi All, I have roughly 300 Zebra TC56 devices in the field that are using a particular APN for cellular connection. We need to move these devices to a new sim card which will use a different APN. The issue is when I put this sim card into a device the device will not select the new APN so the device has no data connection. The only way I can fix this is to manually change the default APN. These devices are spread all around the country so as you can imagine this is a big problem for us. We created a profile that pushes down the APN that is required however we are unable to activate this as the device would then go offline. These devices are fully locked down however I have tried testing with a device not enrolled and found the same issue. Run down on my testing; 1) I have taken a device out that is not enrolled in SOTI and put the old comms plan sim card in and that connected instantly to Telstra.wap as expected. 2) I switch off the device and place the new sim in (Telstra.internet) and boot the device. No connection. I check to see the device is still pointed to the Telstra.wap APN. 3) I then manually select Telstra.internet and that resolves the data connection problem but still needed a manual interaction to force it to the correct APN. Zebra TC56Android PlusOS 7.1.2 (Also happens on android 8)OEM 01-01-49.00-NG-U15-STDSOTI Version: 14.4.3.1153 Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Auto-Updates for apps not functional - Android Enterprise

Even though all devices are under mobi control, and all conditions are being met for updating to take place. The apps with updates are not taking place. Have to dive into each phone and do them manually. SOTI is telling me it's Google Play Store or the devices themselves. Prior to moving to SOTI Mobicontrol we didn't have this issue. Why isn't this working properly? Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

    Lockdown and MobiControl app permissions

Good morning all!  I have a question in regard to the application permissions for MobiControl. Whenever in Device Owner mode wouldn't Soti be able to grant the needed permissions without any user interaction? We're currently up against the fact that we're deploying a lockdown profile to the devices upon enrollment. Whenever the device is enrolled and the profile is set before anyone grants permissions manually the user won't be able to grant the permissions after the lockdown kicks in place.  The user does get the notification that there's a user action pending and after clicking the notification it show the MobiControl page where you can navigate to the setting required but that step is blocked due to the lockdown being active.  I find it strange that even in device owner mode and enrolled using Samsung Knox/Android Zero touch the user needs to grant those permissions. We've currently scoped down to just system setting permissions but we'd like to leverage all permissions for the MobiControl app but user actions are definitely blocking us from that.

How to disable user to disconnect MC agent by clicking on Agent Status Solved Locked

We are running Samsung A10S devices (Android 10) as enterprise enrolled, locked by a kiosk. One of the entries of kiosk is the agent itself, so the user may have access to Content Library. In the agent, the end use may select settings and then have access to the Server status. It is good, when the connection drops down to identify if there is any network restriction to our server. The issue is the end user may touch the agent status when it shows as connected \ and then the agent is forced disconnected. The devices are already set with dozen feature, what works fine.  We just want to know how to block the user to command agent disconnection.

    Certificate alias

Good morning, I have a question about the certificates alias. The question is about how to set the certificate alias with SOTI, if possible:   As you can see in the screeshot, the certificate alias received by the device has this structure: [devicemodel][devicesn][certificatesn]. Where does it take those information and how I can change it with SOTI? Honestly I can’t find where I can set that name inside SOTI CA template configuration. Can you help me?
