Hello, we have certain devices, which does not have a OEM configuration profile available in the SOTI profile. Is there a way to set the hostname of the device via script or any other means? Best, Eduard

Can I send a warning message to plug in the device when the battery level drops to 10%?
I have a Samsung Android Enterprise device running Android 15 that is in lockdown and works fine except it needs to use a different app besides the default to open PDF files. I have allowed the PDF application but hidden it in Lockdown, but when a user goes to open a PDF the first time, they get this prompt: <v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" o:preferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:shape id="Picture_x0020_1" o:spid="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="A screenshot of a phone AI-generated content may be incorrect." style='width:357pt;height:198.6pt;visibility:visible;mso-wrap-style:square'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:/Users/TWHITE~1/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image001.png" o:title="A screenshot of a phone AI-generated content may be incorrect"/> <img src="https://pulse.soti.net//uploads/community/1758833728/blobid0.png" alt="A screenshot of a phone AI-generated content may be incorrect." width="476" height="265"> Right now I am having to tell users to make sure they select the MuPDF app and check Always so that it will work correctly in lockdown, but that is a pain and I really do not want to do it manually across a few hundred devices before deployment. Is there a way to script or select the app from within Mobicontrol to set the default application correctly? I have not ever done any type of script work in Mobicontrol but would love some insight about how it could possibly be done. Thank you for any assistance with this.
We need toset up glove and finger (screen protector on) for Zebra scanners android Os 11 devices, could you please explain how to set up
I’ve followed instructions as per https://soti.net/mc/help/v2025.1/en/packagestudio/packagestudioindex.html to build a Windows desktop classic package. The package contains a .MSI, .MST and other supportive files. I have a .CMD file that calls MSIEXEC to install the applications. When I run the .CMD manually the application installs, as expected. However, packaging and then assigning the package to a profile in Mobicontrol only copies entire contents to destination folder. The .CMD doesn’t run to perform the installation. I’ve ensured .CMD is set to a auto-execute as per https://soti.net/mc/help/v2025.1/en/packagestudio/packages/configure_file_setting.html This behaviour is consistent over multiple devices. Any help will be appreciated.
Hello. I've set up Shared Device for iPads, with the goal of only having Soti MobiControl, Soti MobiControl Login, and Settings (system) visible when no one's logged in. Once a user logs in, the device moves to a different folder where the app policy pushes about 15 work apps - mostly Google apps like Gmail, Chat, Drive, etc. The issue I’m running into is that when a user logs out, the device clears data for all the managed apps except the Google ones. So when the next user logs in, they find the previous user still signed in to those apps - not ideal at all. I do have a Feature Control that allows Safari (only because we need JavaScript permissions), but it’s blacklisted using Application Run Control. However, during testing I discovered Safari seems to be caching the previous user's credentials. Even though apps get reinstalled after logout, the saved logins are somehow still there. To cover some basics: Yes, we have the integration between Apple Business Manager and Google Workspace. Google Workspace is linked with Soti for end-user authentication. Shared iPad (Apple’s version) isn’t an option here because it requires Microsoft Entra user group assignments (from Soti side), which we don’t have set up. Just wondering if anyone’s come across this or has ideas for how to better handle this setup? I'm open to workarounds or even a totally different approach if it solves the problem. Appreciate any insights, thank you
Hey there, I've got a problem with a single-app Kiosk Mode profile on Soti MobiControl. I've set up a profile to lock a device down to a single, custom Android app. This app was manually installed via an APK file, not from the Google Play Store. The app has its own built-in self-update feature. However, the Kiosk Mode profile seems to be blocking these updates. The app on the device remains on the original version that was installed and never gets updated, even when it tries to update itself. I need to find a way to allow this self-updating process for the app while the device remains in Kiosk Mode. My question is: What specific configuration or script is needed in Soti MobiControl to allow an internally self-updating APK to function correctly while in a single-app Kiosk Mode profile? I'm looking for a solution that avoids disabling Kiosk Mode or manually updating the APK every time. Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!
I’ve been looking for this option for a while, but I can’t find it...The device is in Kiosk Mode...
Hello i am trying to utilize speed control on a tablet, the lockdown mode is working correctly but i want the speed control to active and allow 3 apps to run while it is active. main one is google maps but the two others need to be active in the background or able to be switched to. when the speed control activates it only shows google maps, there is no option for me to move to the other apps. does anyone know if i need to add these 2 extra apps to the template in order for them to work during speed control. below is the configuration of the speed control and im using the default dynamic template Thanks Noah
Hello, We use iOS devices and have set up various profiles on the devices (application run control, feature control, web clips). If we activate DDM so that we can use the more robust iOS update management, will this have any impact on the hisotric profiles that are installed? I think it should be fine, but I'm finding the information online around compatibility reactive and declarative management a bit confusing.
Hi all, First time posting but I've been soaking up knowledge in here for some time and appreciate the expertise found in here a lot! We've deployed an app through the managed play store on our AEDO enrolled devices. We opted to deploy the apps with the "postpone" updating cadence, so as to not receive a potentially unstable version immediately. But now we've run into the opposite issue instead where we need to perform a bulk update. Any ideas on how to send out a bulk update to apps deployed by app policy & managed play store? If anyone is sitting on a script that they've used for this I would appreciate that a ton! We're on MC 2024.1.2 and are running various Zebra devices, all on Android 13.
I've installed it on the device with an app policy, I can see licenses being consumed in my KPE but no settings will apply. I've set it up both using OEM configs and with managed app configs, yet neither will work. I am doing this on a Samsung A9+ and I want to configure battery protection, which this device should support per this article. https://docs.samsungknox.com/admin/knox-platform-for-enterprise/knox-service-plugin/kbas/kba-1151-policies-not-applying-after-installation-on-device/
Hi everyone, with mobicontrol and Zebra TC53 device with both Android 13 and 14, I update some display configurations (manual rotation button) trough Zebra Oem Config 14.2.0.1 using App Policy and managed configuration. Before that, this Policy was already applied to all devices. I have only modified the Display configurations parameter. After that as of when the policy as been updated and applied, the log of each TC53 device reports the "Error sending messag (error sending message (type=22), General Communication error)" every 9 - 10 seconds. Please note, other zebra devices on the same network and same istance of Mobicontrol that are not involved with this policy does not reports this error. Can everyone help me with some suggestions? Thank you
