I trying to setup a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro 5G, on Android 16 as a Work Managed Device using Managed Google Play.

I am pushing some microsoft apps (Outlook, Teams, Edge and Authenticator) to the device from the enterprise store and have been trying to use the Application Run Control configuration to allow access to the system camera and the Samsung Gallery app.

The camera functions as expected but when tapping the picture just taken i receive the following error "Unable to find an application to perform this action".

In the Application Run Control configuration i have already allowed the following apps

com.sec.android.gallery3d

com.samsung.storyservice

com.samsung.android.widget.pictureframe

Hoping someone may have come across this before

Hi Jason,

ARC (app run control) isn't the right tool here for enabling system apps.

You can use the following script:

enable_system_app com.sec.android.gallery3d

Pop that in a script, add it to a task scheduler and assign to your devices.

You can of course add multiple of these for each system app you wish to enable.

That worked Robert.

Much appreciated. Wasted countless hours on this.

Would you also use a script to blacklist apps that werent required?

Hi Jason,

To blacklist any apps you'd use ARC (app run control) profile, any package ID's in the ARC will be blacklist from installing on the devices,

Quick note, you are now able to Whitelist from ARC now so make sure you select blacklist otherwise you'll block everything besides the apps you pop in ARC lol

Thanks Darius

I went ahead and used the ARC to blacklist the unwanted apps, and all worked as expected.

I had a different experience trying to Whitelist apps method, which was less reliable that the scripting method that was originally suggested by Robert.

Both options, the ARC to blacklist and the Script to enable the system app give me what i'm looking for.
