Silently granted permissions are not working on my Samsung devices

I am trying to enroll some Samsung Galaxy Tab A's with our Android Enterprise profile.  The add device setup has "Usage Access" "Modify system settings"  and "draw over other apps" set to accept silently, but it doesn't appear to be working.  It is still prompting us to allow them manually.

We are on Mobicontrol Version: 15.4.0.4737

               Agent V 15.0.0.1110

Anyone have an ideas why?

I noticed that if I restart the tablet the setting will take.  Why would I need to restart?

Hi Jesse Gargano,

Thank you for requesting a response from SOTI Support Staff.

This thread has a good explanation of plugins - https://discussions.soti.net/thread/how-do-you-stop-samsung-droid-devices-from-asking-for-permissions-during-initiation-install-of-mobi-control/

When you check off those boxes in the enrollment rule, it tells the agent to request those permissions.

Samsung devices will require manual granting of the permissions on enrollment since we do not have a plug-in for these devices currently.

Device Plug-ins may allow silent granting of permission.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jesse,

If a device restart can solve the problem for your device models consistently, maybe you can consider initiating a device restart inteactively or with script to enforce restart after certiain event to solve your problem.

Raymond,

I've since noticed that a restart doesn't actually grant these permissions it just suppresses the notification by Mobicontrol to allow them to be granted manually.

Hello Jesse Gargano,

Unfortunately Samsung will not sign a plugin, so the permissions would need to be manually accepted. A reboot will suppress the permissions.

Knox Configure will allow permissions to be accepted silently.
