I am fairly new to Java but I know enough to see what a javascript is doing and how to manipulate it to do what I need to get done. I would like to convert some of my legacy scripts to Java because they are a bit more robust and give me a few more options. Here is an example of one of my legacy scripts var MyApp = 'com.test.mobile'; var location = 'some.location' kill_application %MyApp% sendintent -a "test.AppConfig://Config?BaseAddress=http://%location%:8080/testingapp&SystemName=TestApi&DeviceId=%MCDEVICENAME%&PinUsername=True&PinPassword=True" My question is how do I use Java to send mobicontrol commands like "sendintent" or "kill_application". Is it possible to call and set mobicontrol variables like in the previous example?
I have a problem when I re-enroll Android devices that have been sent to Zebra for repair. I re-enroll the device and I can literally watch Mobicontrol and see that the device is re-enrolled with a new name and the name that it previously was using disappears. I then rename the 'new' device back to the name that I want it to have, and put it in the proper folder to pull down the appropriate profile. My issue is that even though Mobicontrol knows it is the same device being re-enrolled it is still claiming a new license. Every time I re-enroll a device, my number of free licenses is dropping by one, when it actually should just be using the same license it was using before. I've started deleting the device to reclaim the license, and then re-enrolling the device again, but my issue is that this has apparently been going on for quite a while and I probably have 50-100 devices that are tying up two licenses each. Is there a way I can clean out these ghost licenses so I can free them up in the system?
Good afternoon, I am having trouble with a set of applications that we have set as Mandatory installs on our devices. We currently are using TC56s/TC57s but are wanting to incorporate a couple of MC930s into our arsenal but have hit a snag with the application installs. We are getting the message "Your device isn't compatible with this version." Our demo unit provided to us was able to have the application installed onto it so I have a hard time believing that is correct. We have already asked the person who provided the DEMO but haven't received a response yet. TIMS Assistant is one of the applications. Is there something I need to do on MobiControl's end to allow for the install? Thank you,James
Hello, We have installed the version of mobicontrol v.14.4.9 ... since several weeks now. All works actually. I would like to know where i can find the NEWS functionnality of this version in order to focus on me Somone can tell me where i can find the release note or some documentation ? Thanks
This might not make sense. The devices we are going to deploy will not be easily physically accessible once they are out in the field. Is it possible to update the MC agent remotely? If so, how is it done? Since we plan on setting up the devices in Kiosk mode, will I have to unlock them all first before I do an upgrade? Is it necessary to upgrade the agent each time there is a new version?
We have a Samsung device when we enroll to our cloud solution we see it in the console but the device shows the above. I have tried to run the script request_appops_permission BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE we get the error Custom log (Notification Access Permission was revoked) the Agent version is 14.4.1 and we are using 15.1 cloud online. We can see the device doesnt show the mobicontrol in the special apps on the device at all and for some reason we cannot accept the notifications it pops up on the device with this error so we cannot get past the screen
Good morning everyone, I´ve got a question about device Deployment without Internet access. We are new in the SoTi environment and installed v15.2 last week to use it for remote support our Warehouse WiFi devices. Our devices are from Zebra (TC7x) and Samsung Tablets (testing with Galaxy Tab A 10.1).The firewall IPs are configured on the firewall like in the manualhttps://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.2/en/setup/installing/soti_services.html and a "Global Proxy" is configured in Soti Global Settings. The server itself is running fine and has internet acccess without any problems. The Problem is: We want to deploy the Samsung Tablets in a firewall isolated WiFi without internet access, but access to the SoTi Server. Our local SoTi supporter gave me a script: {"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_TIME_ZONE":"Europe/Amsterdam","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LOCALE":"de_DE","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_HOST":"<PROXY IP>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_PORT":"<PROXY PORT>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SECURITY_TYPE":"WPA","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SSID":"<SSID>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PASSWORD":"<PASSWORD>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_COMPONENT_NAME":"net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.admin.DeviceAdminAdapter","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_SIGNATURE_CHECKSUM":"hn8mSNJMPcovWbnnWrb-uMpWZjNlNp-jyV_2A-Whumc\=", "android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_PACKAGE_DOWNLOAD_LOCATION":"http://<FQDN of INTERNAL HTTP SERVER/PATH/FILE>.apk","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED": true,"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_SKIP_ENCRYPTION": true,"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_ADMIN_EXTRAS_BUNDLE": {"enrollmentID":"<ENROLLMENT URL>"}} to create a QR code with a QR code generator software, what we´ve done. When we try to scan this QR code while pressing 3x times the welcome screen on an factory reset device and scan the QR code, it´s stay in "Getting ready for work setup..." and I can see really many connections to the internet which are blocked by the firewall but none to the internal sources.I think this are connections to google play store or anything else.I don´t understand why, because I dep the apk-file locally and also use are proxy which isn´t also working (can´t see any connections to the proxy). I´m sure that we aren´t the only company that want to use Soti on isolated devices/WiFi. The Questions: Is such a scenario working with SoTi?If "Yes", how? What could be your error? The aim need to deploy new Android devices without internet access for the device itself. Grateful for every answer and/or help JayDee
Hi We're using SOTI Mobicontrol on Zebra TC56 and VC80X with Android 8.1. I have the devices locked down and only allow one custom app. This app uses a USB camera and a USB RTK GNSS receiver. The problem is, every time the Zebra is rebooted, it asks if I want to allow the app access to the USB devices. Checking the box "Use by default for this USB device" doesn't help as the camera gets a new ID on every reboot. Is there a way to auto allow access to USB devices, or to disable the USB security completely so the user don't see any dialog boxes? Also, it asks if I want to automatically open the app when the USB device is connected, It would be nice if I could get rid of this dialog box as well.
Hi What's the correct path for a classic application? In the configuration screen I can add Classic and Modern apps but the application path is always invalid. Same happening for all classic application I trying to add. Hi, Im finding the reports in the system are not meeting the needs of the organisation i would like to Hook in with PowerBI to take the data down so i can set up my own reports. Has anyone done this that can shed some light on to how to go about connecting?
Hi MobiControl 14.4.9 Agent: 14.x.x I'm getting cases where devices with corporate Google mail using the Google Apps Device Policy (with a small list of available apps) is overriding MobiControl's appllcation catalog. this means that some users cannot install applications that they should be allowed access to. Any suggestions on a fix short of rebuilding the device?
Hey folks, I'm trying to create a CSV file for bulk import into a Device Relocation rule that SOTI will accept. I'm not sure where it's falling down because I'm providing it what it wants per their documentation. The file I'm testing is just a standard UTF-8/CRLF formatted CSV file with one entry but the only quirk is that I don't need custom data. I would just think the import processor would just drop it. Nevertheless I've tried extra commas, fake data, etc. and it still complains. The error I get is a variation on the following: Please provide custom data or IP range for (). Invalid Destination Path (). Example: \\Company Prod\Retail\001-100\001,10.1.100.1,10.1.100.250[Blank Line]
Title. Did anyone observe this behaviour too? Is this intended?
Hello, i am running MC v15.2.0.4819 on premise as a virtual machine (virtualbox). When i am trying to add my directory service ldap then i am getting an internalerror message from mobicontrol. I thought i was just unlucky with some configurations...but it happened on a different machine too. Same version on premisebut different network. So i think there is a problem with mobicontrol? Has someone the same experience?
Hi All, Has anyone managed to create a Azure logic App custom creator with SotiMobicontrol? From MS's documentation I should be able to test the API in Postman and then export from Postman in to Azure. Postman connects without any issues and posts back the data we're calling. If someone has done it, could they give me a helping hand? Thanks!
