Hi, Does anyone know of a list detailing the available actions which can be performed for a lockdown home screen item? The documentation states it can execute Mobicontrol Actions (which I assume are these -> Available Device Actions (soti.net)) However this does not outline the syntax for these actions. Many thanks Adam
Hi, We're using Soti 15.3.0.6713 and we've enrolled some Android Enterprise devices as Corporate Personal (COPE). We've been trying to install Samsung Smart Switch on the devices because in case of a phone replacment we would like to be able to restore data, pictures, whatsapp, etc. When we install Smart Switch we get an error that the app cannot be installed. I read on the forum that we might need to install Samsung Knox Service Plug-In app first and enable the "Allow Smart Switch" option. See the solution on this topic: https://discussions.soti.net/thread/allow-smart-switch-on-samsung-android-enterprise-devices/?quote=c021520b-a1c8-4408-ba0e-1b06063b5c51#createpost When we set Knox Service Plug-In in the App Policy we cannot enable an option Allow Smart Switch. Is that because of our COPE enrollment or is it somewhere else in Soti version 15.3.0.6713?
Hi Support-Team, I switched from internal user authentication to Active Directory based and it is working great, now I wanted to add SSO but cannot get it working. The website jumps to "Invalid response received from Identity Provider.", the server log shows "Invalid SAML 2.0 message. Element 'StatusCode' value is wrong. Expected 'urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:status:Success' received 'urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:status:Responder'". We are running ADFS 3.0, groups setting is set to Directory. Any ideas what went wrong? Thanks and cheers Carsten
Hello there, well i saw the release of MC 15.4 and wanted to check/test it on my development environment. So i upgraded from the latest 15.3 (15.3.3 - 1065) to the latest 15.4 (15.4 - 4737). configured openjdk run the installer On my first try i wasn't able to get my DS back running. It failed always trying to start the service forthe deployment server. After restoring my snapshot i tried to install it again. Did the same steps. Now the DS was able to start.I was able to easily access the webconsole and everything seemed to work. Then i noticed the notification onthe webconsole that my search services stopped working. So i checked in the admin tool the search service. The admin tool is saying that all my services are OK. I restarted all my services and the server just in case. The admin tool is still showing me that the search service is still fine. So then i thought the config files of the search services are corrupted. So i went to the SOTI folder to renamethe the search folder to search_old and run the installer again to make sure that he configures the search servicenew. That step helped me a lot to fix the search service on many servers. Now i have the problem that i can not login into my webconsole. After the login it gets stuck at an indexing process.See the screenshot below: Any idea how to fix that problem? Or should i restore my snapshot and try to install 15.4 again? EDIT: Tried to uninstall MC 15.4 and reinstall it again. Same result... best regards, Ozan
I've been instructed to create a dummy application - with a cost to do so - in order to enroll Windows 10 Modern. What is the reason behind this and can anyone explain the cost? Is it a one time fee, yearly, monthly etc cost?
Hi, we have about 1000 MC33 with Android 8 Now our new purchase has only Android 10 MC33 devices. Our problem is now i cant stage the Android 10 devices when the DeploymentServer certicate is SHA-1, so we changes to SHA-2 and staking worked. But after changing to the SHA-2 certificate the Android 8 devices cant connect to SOTI anymore. Any solutions ? Kind Regards
Hi, I can see SharedDeviceLogout as a function on Mobicontrol console and as a REST API (POST Devices/Actions). However, I haven't been able to find this as a script command. Is there such a command available? As I need to be able to run this function when a device has been out of contact for x minutes, the action action available in mobicontrol is to execute a script. TIA Adam
Hello, for security purposes my team is reviewing traffic allowed on our firewalls. Regarding MobiControl, currently traffic is allowed on TCP ports 5494, 443, 80 and 62412 on our firewalls between our Android devices (with MobiControl Agent) and our SOTI Deployment/Management server (On-Premise v14.3). Traffic is allowed in both directions. I found some information regarding Network Ports on soti.net but I would like a confirmation before doing any change on our infrastructure : - Is TCP port 62412 related to SOTI Mobicontrol ? I did not find any information regarding this specific port ? It may be an error we did in the past and probably not related to MobiControl. - Is there any traffic on TCP port 80 (HTTP) between MobiControl Devices Agent and SOTI servers ? We used to allow it but it seems like only ports 5494 and 443 (HTTPS) are used, could you confirm ? - Do we need traffic allowed in both directions ? Thank you for your help, Maxence
I've only recently started to dabble into Android Enterprise (in which I have gone via Managed Google Play). One of my customers need their own Gmail accounts signed in to the devices alongside the Managed Google Account, but for some reason when they're adding their Google account, the AFW one seems to be removing?I suspect they're deleting the account as there doesn't appear to be a way of stopping them from deleting accounts but you can change whether they can add accounts. Can someone point me in the right direction here?
Hi I'm trying to install an APK file (CityBon). I had to manually get the APK off a samsung tablet through an application called "ES File Explorer". I made a package with the APK and i'm receiving these errors.
Good Morning, I am trying to update several of our apps on our devices. I am getting a failure on some apps and it reads "Failed to install i/o error". I have tried repackaging the APK, Finding a different source for the APK and so far no luck. Is there a script available that I could include in my package build? A script to maybe uninstall the previous version of the package? I wonder if i am confusing the device on what it should install.
This is something I can't wrap my head around. When using native lockdown system information works just fine on some devices but won't work on others. We have about 100 devices running with CK65 that work just fine in native. With these settings:While a PS20 does not show any system information: With exactly the same settings, I even tried to use the same template. But it didn't help. Why do some devices work fine and others don't?I generally just use activity supression but sometimes you just need to hide some buttons (like home and recents) and these features area a lot harder to setup otherwise.
Hello! We are managing Samsung Galaxy devices as Work Managed AE devices. When trying to edit any permissions in any app, this is not possible because it is blocked by MobiControl. It affects apps from Managed Google Play and from puplic Google Play. The apps have all their requested permissions activated (Location, Storage etc.). Even after sending the following script, the apps installed after its execution have all permissions activated and not changeable by user. afw_set_permission_policy deny or afw_set_permission_policy prompt What is the cause of this behaviour? We do not execute any scripts when enrolling these devices.
Is it possible for an administrator to set a use time for an Application in Soti mobicontrol(say from 9AM till 3 PM only user should be able to use an application say any in-house application)?
