Hello. I'm looking for best practices in sending broadcast messages to all or groups of devices several times a week. We are wanting to send Reminders and Tips to our users on COVID-19 related items and I would like to know how some of you are communicating with your end-users in a similar way. I've used the send message function but would like to look at alternatives. Version: 14.5.3.1042 Android Enterprise/Android Plus 99% of phones are in kiosk mode Thanks, John
We are migrating our users to Exchange online and I did see the option "Email servers" within Global Settings of MobiControl. I did review the online help but it's still not clear what exactly the advantage of this would be - and if it is necessary. Can someone help me to understand? Also we are part of a tenant including several companies not using MobiControl and I was asked to limit permissions to a minimum. Which permissions are required? We are using MobiControl 15.2.2.1077 Thank you!
I'm trying to add a homescreen item that will allow me to import Honeywell XML's.But I can't seem to figure out what intent I need to write for it to work.I figured out that the package is: com.honeywell.tools.persistAnd the service its using is: com.honeywell.persist.action.START_PERSIST_SERVICEThis should initiate the service thats automaticly started at a reboot.I have tried the following: intent:#intent;action=com.honeywell.persist.action.START_PERSIST_SERVICE;end launch://com.honeywell.tools.persist/com.honeywell.persist.action.START_PERSIST_SERVICE And I also tried a method that I already knew from sendintent -b, which I accosionally use in package scripting: intent:#Intent;action=com.honeywell.ezconfig.intent.action.IMPORT_XML;S.path=/sdcard/honeywell/persist/DataCollectionService.xml;launchFlags=0x1400020;end But it always returns: Activity not found.
Hello, I'm investigating the possibility to retrieve the DeviceName used by SOTI. From within a inhouse build Android Application. I'm not developing it myself, but I hoped it would be possible to get this info from Intend or JS or using some Identifier to query rest API of the server...Devices : Android Enterprise DOAgent v14.1.7.1117Mobicontrol v15.2.2.1080 Thanks Dennis

Hi, Is is possible to provide Android Enterprise devices (DO) with a wifi profile that includes proxy settings with username and password authentication? A customer of mine wants to push this wifi profile to samsung devices. The proxy settings include an SSID, PSK, Proxy server name, port number, Service Account Name and password. I can see in the profile config everything but the service account username and password fields. Some of the devices are leveraging Samsung Knox Configure Dynamic. I've tested this once but the result was that the username and password fields on the devices wifi profile appeared blank once I made the changes. However, even if I get this to work, I'm only able to push this to those devices on KNOX configure... not all devices. So a SOTI mobicontrol solution would be the preferred method. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Chris
Hi, I'm trying to run an application using sendintent, but I can't figure out how to get this working. When I use adb, I can run the command: adb shell am broadcast -n "com.symbol.selfdiagnostics/com.symbol.selfdiagnostics.SESReceiver" How can I execute this via a script with sendintent? Cheers, Mark
In IOS and in Windows CE is possible to propagate values from an app to be collected by a collection rule. We may also use Rest API in console to get/set values to custom attributes. Is there a sdk to Android Enterprise Agent integration that, as in IOS, allow to get/set values from local device agent ?
Hello, I see in the documentation that using SOTI the agent needs to use ports 5494/5995 but as the devices we need to manage are installed in multiple customers and with the security restriction or sensibility I can't assume to ask our customers to "open" the internet traffic on those ports. Is it possible to modify the configuration of SOTI to use normalized internet port between SOTI instance and the agent ? - if yes how to please - if actually not, when is will be possible ?
Hey all, We are currently on MobiControl Version: 15.0.0.6019 We have both Samsung S8 and S5 in enrolled into our account. Is there a way to disable the physical power button from getting used on the devices? We want to prevent users from turning off the devices on their own as it becomes a security risk. They can simply turn off the device if they want to steal it. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
We have all of our devices with feature control to not allow account creation because we do not want unapproved apps installed on our Work Managed Android Enterprise devices. However, I have some users wanting to make voice activated calls using "OK Google" that seems to be dependant on having a personal Google account associated with it. Is there any way to do this without enabling the account creation? I tried saving the contacts directly to the SIM but that does not work either. Google prompts to sign in.
I have a bunch (~30) Samsung phones that are not pulling in details. The things i'm missing changes from device to device. Sometimes it's phone numbers, sometimes IMIE and CCID. Is there a script I can push at the devices to have MobileLink retry pulling that data? Reboots do not fix the problem and the devices have been in the field for months so it's not just a matter of time. These are all Android+ devices running MobiLink 14+.
Hi, Can you please let us know the Google chrome version of our current SOTI Surf Browser 15.2.1.6 When I used the SOTI Surf browser version 14.4.2, faced the browser compatibility issue and our vendor said that would support their URL access the Google Chrome version 55 above. Before roll out our SOTI Surf new version 15.2.1.6 would like to know which version of google chrome is built.
Good morning everyone, I´ve got a question about device Deployment without Internet access. We are new in the SoTi environment and installed v15.2 last week to use it for remote support our Warehouse WiFi devices. Our devices are from Zebra (TC7x) and Samsung Tablets (testing with Galaxy Tab A 10.1).The firewall IPs are configured on the firewall like in the manualhttps://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.2/en/setup/installing/soti_services.html and a "Global Proxy" is configured in Soti Global Settings. The server itself is running fine and has internet acccess without any problems. The Problem is: We want to deploy the Samsung Tablets in a firewall isolated WiFi without internet access, but access to the SoTi Server. Our local SoTi supporter gave me a script: {"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_TIME_ZONE":"Europe/Amsterdam","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LOCALE":"de_DE","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_HOST":"<PROXY IP>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_PORT":"<PROXY PORT>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SECURITY_TYPE":"WPA","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SSID":"<SSID>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PASSWORD":"<PASSWORD>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_COMPONENT_NAME":"net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.admin.DeviceAdminAdapter","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_SIGNATURE_CHECKSUM":"hn8mSNJMPcovWbnnWrb-uMpWZjNlNp-jyV_2A-Whumc\=", "android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_PACKAGE_DOWNLOAD_LOCATION":"http://<FQDN of INTERNAL HTTP SERVER/PATH/FILE>.apk","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED": true,"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_SKIP_ENCRYPTION": true,"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_ADMIN_EXTRAS_BUNDLE": {"enrollmentID":"<ENROLLMENT URL>"}} to create a QR code with a QR code generator software, what we´ve done. When we try to scan this QR code while pressing 3x times the welcome screen on an factory reset device and scan the QR code, it´s stay in "Getting ready for work setup..." and I can see really many connections to the internet which are blocked by the firewall but none to the internal sources.I think this are connections to google play store or anything else.I don´t understand why, because I dep the apk-file locally and also use are proxy which isn´t also working (can´t see any connections to the proxy). I´m sure that we aren´t the only company that want to use Soti on isolated devices/WiFi. The Questions: Is such a scenario working with SoTi?If "Yes", how? What could be your error? The aim need to deploy new Android devices without internet access for the device itself. Grateful for every answer and/or help JayDee
