    Custom Data no longer retrieving information Solved

    Hi, I've noticed that my custom data is no longer working on our new devices (TC57X Android 10).   From the logs: "Error message received from device (Unable to read file at specified path: /internal/PIN.ini)" This custom data rule works on the older devices; TC55 Android+ and TC56 Android Enterprise. I'm guessing it's an Android security thing, not allowing access to the internal storage? The file is in the only internal storage location accessible: "/sdcard/" Device TC57X OS 10 Agent 15.0.0.1110 MC v15.4 Custom Data  Name: PIN Build Type: INI File INI File name /internal/PIN.ini Section Name: PIN Value Name: PIN Data type: STRING We also use the Custom Data to rename the devices (also not working), for this the INI file has the HW Serials as the Section name and the value is the easier to read device name. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Disable Tap to Wake

    We have 250 Pixel 5's we'd like to disable the Tap to Wake feature on. We have nurses that say it is being woken while they are walking around and making calls. Is there a configuration profile or a script that could disable that feature.

    Keyboard Disabled after using barcode scanner

    Setup basic profile for android enterprise Samsung tablet (os11) with kiosk mode (with only chrome) and Application control.  Everything was working correctly until a barcode scanner was connected to the tablet via usb.  When the user taps on an input field, the keyboard does not display.  I have removed the scanner and rebooted the tablet, but I cannot enable the keyboard again.  I have not disabled any settings or lockdowns.  How do I get the keyboard to appear when user taps on a field? 14.1.5.1284 cloud Janesville tablet 04

    I work for a large company and Intune is used for all external devices like cell phones but I have MobiControl v15 fpr internal use with Zebra TC21 & TC70x.  Can they both use the same Android Enterprise setup?

    Android Apps Not Installing Automatically From Managed GooglePlay with Mandatory Installation Rules in place

    Hello all; I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.  I've got a set of Samsung Android Tablets, running the latest Android version, that just won't automatically install the apps designated as Mandatory installs through the Application Catalogue rules. To add to the oddities, on Monday i had another batch of the exact same model and version, but those applications did install without a problem. When i take a look through the logs on the MobiControl console, it reads "Device is missing mandatory application", but that's all the information given by the log.  What am i missing? What could have changed from Monday to today that is causing these tablets to not automatically install the mandatory applications? Thank you for any assistance.

    AE agent v15 cause Remote View in Android 10 ?

    Hi everyone, I have around 200 Samsung A01 devices enrolled to MC. To prevent upgrade to OS 11 (in 11, RC will turn to Remote View), i applied script to block the OS update. After that everything going fine, but unfortunately today i found out around 60 devices got upgraded AE agent 15.0.0.1110 and that cause RC function turn to Remote View only. Even though the device running on OS 10. Is there any way to downgrade AE agent (14.5.5.1023) to all devices affected? RC function is crucial since my client use it daily to assist sales force in their daily activity. Thanks & regards, Randy Saputra

    Android 10 devices not enrolling Solved

    Has anyone else had this issue? I'm trying to enroll an Android 10 device but it fails to connect to the server. Cloud based server, running 13.4.  Zebra TC57x running OS10.  MobiControl is set as DO.  TIA.

    Upgrade 7.1.2 to 8.1 - Remote View only

    Good afternoon, We have several TC56s that are running Android 7.1.2 and we intend on trying to upgrade them to 8.1. I was testing this process by deploying the Zebra provided ZIP files and was successfully able to update these devices. The only problem is after the update Remote View is the only option when attempting to remote into these devices. The remote view does not work and only shows a black screen. What I have attempted so far: 1. Deploying the MobiControl Device Agent detailed in this article below. I get [Failed to Install (File I/O Error)] as an error. Our devices were enrolled as Work Managed Devices as well. https://discussions.soti.net/thread/why-the-device-is-showing-just-the-option-remote-view/ 2. This other article actually closely resembles the issues I am having but I have the device out of any sort of profile that enforces Kiosk or app permissions. https://discussions.soti.net/thread/android-8-remotecontrol 3. I was testing on devices that I had at a nearby location and the only way I have been able to get them to work is by completely deleting the device out of MobiControl and enrolling from scratch. This allows the devices to work on Remote Control properly. The only problem with this method is we have several devices that are states away so having to completely re-enroll all of them would be incredibly difficult. That is why I am posting here to see if there are any other options. Please let me know if you require any more information regarding this issue and I appreciate any sort of assistance I am given in advance. Thank you! James Pike

    MC33 with Android 8 and SHA-2 certificate

    Hi, we have about 1000 MC33 with Android 8  Now our new purchase has only Android 10 MC33 devices.  Our problem is now i cant stage the Android 10 devices when the DeploymentServer certicate is SHA-1, so we changes to SHA-2 and staking worked. But after changing to the SHA-2 certificate the Android 8 devices cant connect to SOTI anymore. Any solutions ? Kind Regards

    How can you prevent someone from removing a managed google account Solved Locked

    I've only recently started to dabble into Android Enterprise (in which I have gone via Managed Google Play). One of my customers need their own Gmail accounts signed in to the devices alongside the Managed Google Account, but for some reason when they're adding their Google account, the AFW one seems to be removing?I suspect they're deleting the account as there doesn't appear to be a way of stopping them from deleting accounts but you can change whether they can add accounts. Can someone point me in the right direction here?

    Remoting

    Trying to remote into Samsung tab with os 11.  Web-based option gives me "Please wait while starting remote" and never starts the remote.  The Legacy option opens and sometimes loads the tablet's detail and then closes. Running Cloud 14.1

    Device cannot be deleted from dashboard Solved

    Hello everyone, I have a problem with our device, we tried to hard reset our device without unenrolling it first, after the device was successfully reset, I tried to Unenroll the device and delete it from the dashboard but the device can't be lost from the dashboard, should I delete it directly from the database?   Regard, Carmadi

    How to make Zebra TC26 device sync time regularly

    Hi, some of our Zebra TC26 mobile android devices are getting out of time sync. I created a MobiControl package that enables Network Time and sets military time to 24 hours. When the package installs, it works fine. But then at some time some of the devices have seemingly by themselves removed the "Use network time" again, and some of them are 6-8 hours out of time sync. I don't know how. It seems though, if I manually force the package to run again, they will get the "Use network time" once again, and imediatedly be in sync again.  So what I did was, to go to my time sync profile and try to set it to run at a schedule two times a week. But as far as I can see in the logs on some of the devices, nothing happened this morning. It does not seem like the job was started. Devices are running android 10. Tried to insert som images here in .png or .jpg, but it fails to upload them. Regards Jarl
