New to MobiControl v15, I inherited v7 but hardly ever had to touch it. I have new TC75x manual Wifi setup initially and MobiControl Agent installed on it. I need to be able to change the Wifi settings for a given SSID every 90 days. I assumed I could do it through a Profile but after researching I'm lost.
I am looking for a way to forget a device's wifi networks. (clear them). Do any scripts exist to help out with this? the other possible solution would be a script to reset network settings on the device. If someone knows of any helpful scripts please let me know!
Zebra TC21 - Android 10 - Android Enterprise I have my device in lockdown mode with my company's custom app as the only app running. I enabled the notification bar to be accessed while in lockdown mode. My issue is when I open the setting and notification bar from the top to change the current wireless network to another network. I press and hold the Wi-Fi button to open up the list of available networks, the window with the list will open from the right side of the screen and then go disappear to the left. It doesn't stay for enough time to choose another network. I have Zebra TC57s that will work just fine when wanting to switch networks in lockdown mode. Those are running Android 8.
Good Morning. I am wondering if there is any way to add features to the Settings Manager. Currently we have a Kiosk on our devices that limit what the user can see/access. One of the things that has came up is needing to print off the android tablet using WiFi-Direct. We are in a specific situation where our DOT truck drivers use tablets connected to a backseat data plan in order to capture driving logs and what not. They are needing to use their tablets to create bills of ladings and print them, all while being connected to the truck's PCG backseat data plan. Unfortunately, we cannot connect a printer or any other devices to that source of WiFi. the solution i have found is to use WiFi Direct via the tablet settings while in admin mode. These settings are not available to the user. I can Connect the printer and put the tablet back in Kiosk mode, but once the internet or printer disconnects, i am needing to go into admin mode and set it all up again. I think it would be easier to have access to Wifi-Direct through the Settings manager. Is this Possible? below is a screenshot of the setting i am needing.
Hi, Is is possible to provide Android Enterprise devices (DO) with a wifi profile that includes proxy settings with username and password authentication? A customer of mine wants to push this wifi profile to samsung devices. The proxy settings include an SSID, PSK, Proxy server name, port number, Service Account Name and password. I can see in the profile config everything but the service account username and password fields. Some of the devices are leveraging Samsung Knox Configure Dynamic. I've tested this once but the result was that the username and password fields on the devices wifi profile appeared blank once I made the changes. However, even if I get this to work, I'm only able to push this to those devices on KNOX configure... not all devices. So a SOTI mobicontrol solution would be the preferred method. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Chris
Dear Soti community, since about 2 weeks I have trouble to install new devices. I use the same WiFi settings since about 6 months. I also talked to my colleagues from the internal IT network department - "They changed nothing at the WiFi infrastructure." My setup: Test-System - SOTI MobiControl 15.1.3.1021 - Agent: 14.1.5.1059 Prod-System - SOTI MobiControl 14.3.2.1171 - Agent: 14.1.5.1059 Here are some infos about my test devices:- Honeywell CT60 (Brand new device and already existing device9- Android 8.1 Build 129- Android 8.1 Build 180 Device Config (both staging profiles): As I said - I use this settings for about 6 months. After scanning my barcode, my normal device settings are applied first. After that a "Wait for network" task is running. Here is the problem: Sometimes the CT60 device use the connection for about one second and disconnect form the WiFi connection. Then the device is retrying to download the device agent again and again... 2nd scenario: The WiFi connection will be not established. In both cases the WiFi symbol is briefly displayed in the upper right corner and then disappears. However, as soon as I manually configure a device and also manually enter the WiFi settings, I can easily authenticate to WiFi and the connection remains established. I hope somebody of you had such a problem before and can help me. Of course the colleagues from the network department say that it is because of MY barcodes and configurations. But I can't imagine it, because these settings worked without problems for more than half a year now.
Hi all, We have some Samsung tablets in our environment. But they keep switching WIFI profiles. We have one staging profile using a WPA2 passphrase and a cert based wifi. After switching to the production wifi (cert based) the device keeps switching back now and then. With our Zebra devices we are able to use the MX framework. But there is nothing like that on a Samsung tablet. Does anyone have something to resolve this?
Hello everyone.I wanted to ask you how can I add multiple exceptions on a wifi profile in the proxy tab -> exceptions. How do I separate multiple entries into exceptions, by commas ? Is the symbol : * taken into account for example : 10.* ?Thank you.Regards.
Hi, Some devices (Android+) cannot connect to the MobiControl server (v14) once we enable the WiFi. Sometimes, they are connected few minutes but most of the time, once we switch from network mobile to Wifi, few minutes later we loose the connection between devices and SOTI server. Something strange is that one of 10 devices which is connected to the same SSID and same router is always connected to SOTI with WiFi connection... I also found something strange, of the device was connected during more than 1 hour to SOTI server, I connected to it by using remote control, I found that SOTI agent was displayed on the device on SOTI configuration page, but once I clicked on samsung home button, I suddenly lost the connection, after that this device was always disconnected from SOTI server... Your help will be welcome. Thanks
I want to lockdown and not show the status bar, but I also want to show the wifi signal/connection, battery, etc settings gained by SOTI from Zebra. If I have Zebra Android Enterprise devices is this possible? Sorry should have been more specific. They didn't want the bar. Was trying to add to the actual lock-down HTML. Sorry I was not more specific. Thanks
Has anyone successfully deployed the network priority feature to an iOS device? We have the payload setup with two SSIDs but the devices just randomly pick which SSID they connect to. This seems pretty straightforward so I don't know why this isn't working.
Is there any way we can push wifi proxy settings to devices running in Android plus mode ?. i know that this option is available in Android Enterprise mode, but we use Android plus
I have 2 queries regarding SOTI. 1. I know that we can send messages to the devices from SOTI web console. But i am looking for a functionality to send messages to multiple devices (broadcast) with an alarming sound . Do we have any configuration for this ?.We are using Android plus enrollemnt. 2. I am using Lockdown mode and i want to display the Wifi SSID i am connected to and my IP address of the device on the lockdown screen. How we can do it ?
Hi there, we'll use devices from other manufacturers than Zebra too. So i got a Samsung A50 with Android 9. We passed the Google-Settingsmanager with the minimum of settings to made (no Google account; we don't need it for now; no Wifi Settings etc.). We installed the mobicontrol APK on the device and scanned the barcode from Mobicontrol Stage. Then we get the error, that the wireless settings are not able to be set. Mobicontrol got all permissions we're able to give in the App-Tab on device. Mobicontrol is set as deviceadministration App too. But no chance to get the wireless settings set. Is there something we can do or must we set it manually everytime? The device is asking for connection to ELM, do we really need this or is there a way to use it without ELM?
Hi. I want to add wifi band name (2.4GHz or 5GHz) on lockdown screen. Is there a macro I can use for this?
