Hi everyone, possible silly question of the day. Due to an acquisition I've just inherited a few devices which don't seem to support Android Enterprise. These are Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) LTE SM-T285 running Android 5.1.1. Is there anyway to get Android Enterprise to work on these so that we can implement lockdown?

Hi, I have spent the last few days speaking back and forth with support and am now looking for if anyone else has had these issues. When I run through the initial setup of the Scanners (Zebra MC9300) I am told by the MobiControl guide to use the afw#mobicontrol when asked for a google account. This works, and MobiControl is installed. This issue then is when trying to enroll the device into our MobiControl server the enrolment fails, using the SSID we use for all the scanners on our estate. Using the Enrolment ID or URL does not allow us to enroll. The SSID we use for our scanners is locked down from internet usage because of where they are situated and internet access on any device is prohibited. Now the fun part. I am told that the devices NEED internet access to contact the deployment server to enroll the devices, BUT when I skip all of the initial setup and install the APK from the MobiControl Agent site, I can enroll the device, it comes into MobiControl and I am able to configure profiles and such. The only issue is we can only remote VIEW the devices. Now most of these devices are on remote sites (we are in UK, Warehouses are in France) therefore we need to be able to remote control the device to troubleshoot any issues that may arise. I am told that the devices need to be enrolled as enterprise devices in order to be able to remote control them and even when manually installing the APK it should enroll as a enterprise device rather then just a work profile.I tried also to set up the StageNow application but was unsuccessful to get it to stage using a barcode. Has anyone got any ideas or scenarios that are similar? TIA
Hi, is there a possibility to delete several folders at once? I want to remove folders like 151... 153.... 159... etc. So i tried using script like this: rd /s /enterprise/usr/1* but this is not working. I can write rd /s /enterprise/usr/151434434304 and it will delete the exact folder. But I want to delete all folders that begin with 1. Is there any possibility?
Hi @Soti, I wanted to ask if it is possible to create and manage device group permissions with APIs. The background is that a customer has about 140 folders and he needs now certain permissions in each subfolder for a usergroup. Doing this manually about 140 times would be very time-consuming. Like described here: http://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.0/en/console/devices/managing/groups/groups.html?hl=permission If someone knows that this is possible could I have an example how to create a device group and give user group permissions for this device group? Hi,we have a customer where on several EDA70 devices the soft buttons are not working from time to time. The solution so far is factory reset, afterwards it's working again. They are enrolled in SOTI. The solution: factory reset is not the preferred solution for the customer so far. Do you have any idea why this is happening with the devices? I don't have any idea so far, this doesn't happen on a "regular" basis, it just happens. Thanks,

Hi together, how I can upload bigger files to SOTI for deploying? I have a .pkg file with 1.67 GB size. My problem is the upload needs more time then the login timeout. Hi, Is there any way in SOTI that would set my own app as the default launcher on Android? Everytime an update on my app is performed, since the old one is deleted before the new one is installed, a prompt to choose the default launcher will pop-up and we would like that our launcher would be always the default launcher, no exeptions.

Hello,I’m trying to remotely wake up Android Tablets. The situation is that I have a number of Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) tablets that are configured with a lockdown for customers to use. We have been getting complaints that staff are getting tired of having to wake the tablets up every morning. The tablets are in enclosures that and they can’t reach the buttons to wake it up. The tablets are on Android 8.1 SOTI we are using is 14.4We have disabled the daze mode and set the screen time out to 5 or 6 hours. Our initial tablets that never turned off had to be replaced due to burn in so leaving them lit up overnight isn’t going to work out that wellI’ve tried sending scripts like unlock and they don’t seem to do anything no error nothing. However, if I send reset /s as a script command it reboots, if I send lock it locks so it is executing some scripts.The tablets being what they are don’t have the double tab to wake option.When I remote to them and used the home button they wake up fine so the connection is fine.Ultimately I was hoping to use the task schedule to send the script but if I can’t get it to work as a one off it seems unlikely it will work with the schedule.Anyone run into something like this or have any suggestions?
Hi, I have trouble upgrading (versions in the subject line) mobicontrol. When I start the setup file, I am only greeted with an empty error box that I can only confirm with ok and the setup is aborted. Because of the error being completly blank, I do not have any clue on what the error might be related to. What I have tried so far (always with the same, non-working result): Executed Setup as .exe Switched system language from German to US English (I thougt, maybe there was no translation for the error) Manually stop all related mobicontrol services, tasks, etc. ... before executing the setup file Rebooted the system The system in question is running Windows 10 with all the latest updates installed. Any help or clue is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Greg Edit: I have not had any problems updating mobicontrol in the past.
Hi, my coworker is working with the api's of MC. He wants to get all user or group entriesout of MC. In the API documentation are 3 entries to get informations about the directory users/groups. /directories/{directoryConnectionName}/entries /directories/connections /directories/entries I guess the third one is necessary to get all users and/or groups from the directory. The problem is that we dont know which values it need. searchString: for example uid? memberOf: ??? We are using OpenLDAP as a directory. I hope i was able to explain our little problem.
