MC API - How to get all directory User / Group entries Solved

Hi, my coworker is working with the api's of MC. He wants to get all user or group entriesout of MC. In the API documentation are 3 entries to get informations about the directory users/groups. /directories/{directoryConnectionName}/entries /directories/connections /directories/entries I guess the third one is necessary to get all users  and/or groups from the directory. The problem is that we dont know which values it need. searchString: for example uid? memberOf: ??? We are using OpenLDAP as a directory. I hope i was able to explain our little problem. If not then you can ask specific questions. Thank you!

    Enrolling Android 10 device Solved

Hi, we currently want to enroll a Samsung Android 10 device. SOTI V14 Unfortunately it gets stuck during "license activation pending". After that the log says that somehow a permission for mobicontrol was rejected. Unfortunately we didn't reject any permission nor did we not give the permissions it asked for. Any idea what we are doing wrong? I can attach screenshots etc. if necessary. Regards,

App not starting from "SOTI Kiosk / Lockdown" mode Solved Locked

Hi, I have a specific Android app which I want to start from the SOTI Lockdown/Kiosk Mode. Unfortunately it doesn't start, even with a script "start androidname" it doesn't start. If you are not within the Lockdown/Kiosk mode it starts without any issue, also with the script. Any idea why this might be the case? This problems happens on Android 9, on Android 5 it is working properly. Thanks,

How do I install multiple OS packages on Zebras? Solved

SOTI Version: Version: 14.4.1.1195  Devices: Zebra TC56J Android 7.1.2 Agent version: 14.1.4.1010 I am trying to find an efficient way to upgrade our Android 7.1 devices to Android 8. Currently, I have a staging OU that downloads the OS update from 7 to 8, with a post copy script that successfully upgrades the device to 8.1 However, this disconnects it from SOTI since the agent is then incompatible. So, I'm trying to do this all through StageNow. According to this: https://supportcommunity.zebra.com/s/article/OS-Update-multiple-packages-using-SOTI-MobiControl-Mxconfig-Script?language=en_US I should be able to. I followed that guide exactly, with the exception of a file sync rule since the device is orphaned after upgrading to 8. Instead, I added in FileMgr configs that copy my Android 8 patch, an Android 8 reset zip, and a UPL file that lists both. The PowerMgr config is set exactly as in my link above. However even though StageNow says it is successful (and the files physically are copied to the device) it never seems to process the patch and reset files.  Contents of my UPL file is: package:CFE_ATLAS_02-32-04.00-ON-U01-STD.zippackage:ATLAS_O_FACT_RESET_U08.zip Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and tips on what I may be doing wrong. Thanks!

Impossible to enroll Zebra MC33 to MobiControl 15.1 Solved

hi everybody, I am trying to enroll a Zebra MC33 with Android Nougat 7.1.2 (no GMS) to a SOTI MobiControl console version 15.1.2.1035 (trial version). I tried to use the very same method I executed with MobiControl version 14.2.2 (type the URL on Chromium and download the Zebra agent from the console server), but result is an error. Could you please tell me the correct method I have to use to enroll the device to the console? Is there any available link with instructions to be followed? Thank you very much and best regards

Script to disable Secure Startup (AE)

Hello, is it possible to disable the secure startup pin with a script? My Problem is that when setting a Pin with DeviceConfig (Honeywell CT40) it also activates secure startup, the pin itself is needed for certificate installation but the secure startup is really hindering tasks that initiate any kind of reboot on the device.

    APNS Changes Solved Locked

Hi all, want to ask about this update regarding APNS : Apple currently provides two endpoints for the Apple Push Notification Service (APNS): the original APNS endpoint based on a binary TCP protocol (hereafter referred to as “legacy APNS”) and a newer APNS endpoint based on the HTTP/2 communication protocol (hereafter “modern APNS”). On November 1st, 2020, Apple will discontinue the legacy APNS in favor of the modern APNS. All versions of SOTI MobiControl released to date have leveraged the legacy APNS.  The discontinuation of the legacy APNS means that this change by Apple will impact all customers using SOTI MobiControl to manage their Apple devices. As of November 1, 2020, customers will no longer be able to manage existing iOS & macOS devices or enroll new ones without upgrading their version of MobiControl. SOTI will issue Maintenance Releases for SOTI MobiControl v14 and v15 in order to support the modern APNS and avoid any service disruption.  SOTI MobiControl v15.2 and higher will support the modern APNS and will not be affected when they are released. Recommended course of action for affected customers Customers running SOTI MobiControl 14.x or lower should upgrade to 14.5.1, which will be released in late May / early June, 2020. Customers running SOTI MobiControl 15.0.x or 15.1 should upgrade to 15.1.1, which will be released in late May / early June, 2020. Customers running SOTI MobiControl 15.2 or higher do not need to take any action. For now my client used 14.4.1 version, if they plan to upgrade the version to 15.1, is APNS problem is solved for them?  Thanks & regards, Randy

Maintenance window for GMS App Updates

Looing in some information about how managed google play app updates work I ran across this post: https://support.google.com/googleplay/work/answer/9350374?hl=en In it it references a Maintenance window for app updates.   You can set a maintenance window during which the following constraints are ignored: The device is charging. The device is idle (i.e. not actively used). The app to be updated is not running in the foreground. The maintenance window is defined by a start time (local time of the device) and a duration (between 30 minutes and 24 hours). Note that setting a maintenance window doesn’t affect the network constraint which is controlled separately (see section above for controlling this constraint). It can take up to 24 hours for an app update to be added to the update queue. After an app is added to the queue, it will be updated automatically the next time the device is in the maintenance window if the network constraint is met. As a result, it can take up to 48 hours for an app to update after you set a maintenance window. Is it possible to have Mobicontrol set that Maintenance window on the device?  If so how is that done?  Otherwise have their been any improvements around getting Google to give mdm's api calls into the play store to force an app to update?   Thanks in advance. Allen.
