Hello, I am referencing a similar but less specific question here: https://discussions.soti.net/thread/set-app-permissions-with-soti/ I am using Android+ management with SOTI MobiControl. Basically I understand how to use Stagenow to create an XML that can then be called in the Post Install script in MobiControl package builder. However, within StageNow I cannot find anything that will allow me to grant permissions automatically for an app (basically automatically granting the pop up for Location, Storage, etc). Can anyone help me find the actual commands I could manually add to my XML or perhaps a StageNow configuration I'm missing? Thank you!
Hi guys, I've three different Samsung tablet with me (Tab A 2018; Tab S4; Tab S6). All tablets running Android 9 with Agent 14.0. If I remove the software keys manually, watchsetting reports: Custom log (URI:content://settings/global SETTING:navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden VALUE:1) If I want to perform this setting via MobiControl script, nothing happens. The script I sent is as follows: Writesecuresetting -glo navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden 1
Hi! I just wanted to share a solution for bypassing Google Play Protect problem when installing your apps. We had this problem for one of our apps but we came up with the following workaround: Create an Application Run Control profile and set it to blacklist: com.android.vending (Which is the Google Play store) Also create a Feature Control profile with the setting for "Disable Verify Apps Enforcement" ticked. Have the Application Run Control profile assigned to the devices as long as they don't have the correct version/not even installed of the app which are getting blocked all the time. So far this seems to work but we can't really tell if the app gets totally blacklisted in the future which will make Play Protect to actually delete the app but I have not heard of anything like that before.
Hi! Running version 14+ of MobiControl. I am trying to make a search/virtual group for devices which does not have a specific app installed. I can make the criterias like, bundle id = xxx and status is not installed but that will only show if the app is reported as uninstalled for example. Not if the app has never even been installed. How can we achieve this in a good way?
After following the discussion and statement in this post https://discussions.soti.net/thread/how-to-accept-write-settings-permission-programatically/ I was wondering for the "Write Settings Permission" issue, If Zebra can create an Image with SOTI Android Enterprise agent and granted preinstalled.
I have followed provided instructions to add the plugin/package to our handsets that need them to enable remote control. We have a mixture of handsets - the Samsung handsets work perfectly fine without a package deployed and I can see and control the phone through Remote Control. However, I have tested this on our Sony and Nokia handsets - I can see the screen but cannot control it. I have tested a Sony Xperia L3 running Android 8.1.0 and a Nokia 5 running Android 9. I downloaded the packages from the SOTI website - have I missed a step that allows control of the phone?
We have a device that is throwing the error "Samsung ELM license activation failed". This hasn't happened to any of our other 100+ samsung devices. I'm finding nothing about this error online. Anyone know how to correct this?
It was brought to our attention that certain versions of MC have already started alerting on the MC web console that the DSE cert is expiring in 90 days. We are aware of the certificate expiry notification and like every year, SOTI will renew the certs and roll it out on all servers before the expiry. There is NO immediate action required from customers or our support/PS at the moment. As we are currently managing the cloud instances, SOTI will be renewing the certificates. Regards,
Hello, I am installing version 13.2 of MobiControl, to manage Android devices which are not certified by Soti (using Generic Android Agent). But after setting up the server, and activating using Eval key, i do not find the tab where i can manage Generic Android Devices. I believe that i should find this category, or this tab But in my case, i do not find it: I ask if there is, some twikes or changes that i should make to get what i am looking for. Thank you in advance,
Is there a way to select more than one group when setting up a location report? reason i ask is because we have multiple groups for all our different warehouses. i am needing to run a location report on several devices located in different groups. is there anyway to select multiple devices for one report? or will i have to schedule an individual report for each device?
If the device name used in the ADD DEVICE RULE is updated to a NEW device name, would new devices enrolled after the device name was changed enroll with the older device name or the updated device name? For instance, if the name originally configured in the ADR was "TC57_%ESN%", and the MCSETUP.ini file was downloaded and being used. At some point the ADR is updated and the new device name is now "TC57_%SerialNumber% but the MCSETUP.ini file is NOT re-downloaded. What would the device name of newly enrolled devices be if the original MCSETUP.ini file is still being used? Would SOTI set the device name to the updated ADR configuration or would the MCSETUP.ini configuration be used?
Hi, Some of our customers are asking to know the bluetooth device that their devices are connected to. I can't see this included in any reports and I can't see it on the listed information for an individual device. The devices are Android Plus and are running Android 5.0. The MobiControl Agent they're running is 13.3.2.1014.
I am trying to block users from using certain apps that are siphoning our data pool when roaming. Where do you find the Bundle ID for an app like YouTube, Netflix or Facebook?
