Hello, I was wondering how would you go about removing SOTI mobicontrol entirely from a device that was setup and enrolled under Android Enterprise using the afw#mobicontrol at initial phone setup? I'm hoping there is a way to do it without wiping the phone as I have deployed a few phones setup this way already and need to remove the software from them without removing anything else from the phone. If it helps the phones are Samsung Galaxy S7's running android version 7.0 or 8.0. Thanks, Timothy
Hello, We are testing some Android Oreo devices (Samsung J6) as Android+ and Android Enterprise and we have found that remote control does not show screen image. Buttons work (home, back, volume).Screen is shown as a white image and even if you clic in some area where it happens to be and icon, it opens the app. We tested Android+ agent version 13.5.1 Build 1044 (the latest) and Android Enterprise versión 13.5.1 Build 1234 (latest) with Mobicontrol servers version 13.3.0.3454, 14.1.6.1113 and 14.1.7.1101 I appreciate your comments and suggestions.
Hi, Is there a way to launch a URL from the lock screen specifically in Chrome? If I user Browsers:// it doesn't appear to use chrome and although I can get the URL I need, I need it specifically in chrome due to various compatibility issues. Any help here would be appreciated.
Hi, I've got an Ipod Touch IOS 11. I want to make it enroll right from the configuration of the IOS device using DEP. As for now:- Soti is linked to my Apple DEP- Device rule is madeIf I uncheck the box 'Require Enrollment during Setup Assistant' and skip this part. All the things go just as expected. So the Ipod is definitely reading the rule I made. But I want my Ipod to be supervised and enrolled during the setup. Yet, it keeps on giving me the notification that 'remote management cancelled' Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Just like the title says, is there any way to remove the device configuration page (specifically the un-enroll button) from the mobicontrol app? We use the app to track devices if they are lost as well as push messages through, but it's pointless having application control if the user can just turn it off by un-enrolling the device... Also the end user doesn't need to see the debug logs. Is there an configuration URI or command we can use to remove this information?
We upgraded our Mobicontrol environment from 13.3.3064 to 13.4.4822 and after that we have experienced queue length issues from time to time. We have changed update schedule, test message frequency and added memory to our SQL DB but we are still experiencing excessive queue length. Especially on one of our DS. None of the servers are under high load and we are using 2 load balancing DS with about 30000 enrolled devices. Any advice on what to check and try? We experienced no problems before the upgrade.
Hello I have a around 250 GETAC RX-10 Tablets running on a standard Windows platform and would like to monitor the SIM ICCID and the IMEI number of the device. Could someone tell me how I can extract this information from the tablet into SOTI. From what I have read the ICCID can be extracted from the Windows registry using a rules based approach. I am using version 14.1.3.1587 of Mobi Control. Thank you. Regards Dave
After configuring Kiosk mode using Android+ in Samsung, I'm getting error "Package not found" while trying to add Phone app using Launch://com.samsung.android.incallui Pls. help.
I am curious what's timezone setup flow for Android devices through SOTI console. There is "Time Synchronization" in a group config where either custom timezone can be set or specific NTP server can be configured. But it does not affect any device in the group. So there are a few questions: 1. Is it possible to change device timezone through SOTI console at all? 2. Is it depend on Android version (I tested it with Android 6 devices)?
Hey Guys, Is there any chance to set up App-Permissions within SOTI on an Zebra TC20 Device? We build an App which sets Wallpaper, changes Notifications an stuff like that. We can execute all these settings remote with the sendintent command. Unfortunately the App needs the Storage Permission wihich is not allowed after installation. Can Soti, MCStudio, Script Command Set or anything else grant the permissions without User action? Thanks!
I have been having an issue that I hope the minds here can help with. We are using Mobicontrol Cloud and have been having issues since version 11 (we are now on 14.1) in which we find that we don't reliably get all the specified data from each device, even when they are online continuously, and I think I know why but would like ot hear your thoughts and opinions. We are probably trying to hard to get as much data as possible instead of just what is needed (of all the data we can specify in the collection rule we ope to NOT select only 4 parameters, and I think we are trying to grab it too frequently (20 minute interval). It seems like the 20 minute interval may not be enough to upload each manifest before the the schedule starts collecting again, this assumes that the collection is set up as a round-robin: connect to Device A, upload all that is there to take, connect to Device B, gather that data...and so on. I think we may benefit from taking the following steps: -Reduce the individual items that we collect to only what is needed -Set up different collection rules and stagger them. Our single most important data to get is Location, so we could have a collection rule just for that and make sure it takes place on a schedule to avoid conflict with any other collection rules. Does anyone know if each rule gets its own thread when it executes? I'd like to understand if we can collect the same data if we simply break it up into smaller chunks per rule/schedule, or if it is too much data to collect in the current time interval (20 minutes) and we need to consider going to 30 or 45 minute schedules. Thanks!
When I upgrade Mobicontrol to a newer version (on premise installation), I can't upgrade the agent via the webconsole (different devices). I can enable the agent upgrade, the console shows "Agent Upgrade Enabled: Yes". When I select upgrade agent now, the agen on the device exit, the device goes offline in the webconsole. After a few seconds the device is online again, with the same agent version. Any suggestions? Regards, Mark
We are trying to get the our software package to down and install onto the D10 device. We keep getting in the mobi control a red icon with arrow saying Agent not compatable. On the device under profile within Soti we can see the software package but it keeps saying pending. it will not install for some reason. Also when we select the device in the mobi control, select the compliance and it says agent compatible is No.
Good day, I have been tasked with upgrading our MobiControl(hosted locally) from V13.3 which is hosted in windows server 2008 R2 to the latest (being V14.something) which i will have to upgrade windows as well to 2016.i am very nervous not knowing what is on the otherside. When reading on some soti documents they advise that you first upgrade from v13.3 to v13.4 then finally to v14,has anyone ever just upgraded from v13.3 to v14 secondly has anyone migrated Mobicontrol soti from windows server 2008 r2 to windows server 2016.
I am running soti mobicontrol and Surf on Zebra MC33, android 7.1 I would like to disable the screen rotation, locking the screen in portrait mode. I have tried to send a script "lockdownorientation portrait" but with no luck. Any suggestions?
