Hello, Devices running the iOS 12 beta are not able to enroll in soti via DEP or the enrollment URL. They receive the error " Profile Installation failed. A network error occurred." iOS devices that were previously enrolled that were upgraded to iOS 12 do not check into Soti unless the mobicontrol app is opened. I never get a SSL error but I see one is referenced in the article https://discussions.soti.net/kb/ios-12-devices-fail-to-enroll-with-error-an-ssl-error-has-occurred-and-a-secure-connection-to-the-server-cannot-be-made Could this be related to the SSL error?
A client of ours is asking if we are able to hide their mobile phone number in outgoing calls. Their truck drivers deliver goods to customers and some customers want the truck driver to call them when they arrive. No problem. Yet our client does not want the customer to be able to call back. If anything's wrong with the delivery, the customer should call our client's customer service instead of harassing the truck driver. They're using Zebra TC56 devices, running on Android 6.1.2. The thing is, I know it's possible to hide the caller ID and I also know where to find it. But can you help me automate this process? To make sure we're talking about the same setting, I mean: "Phone" application > Settings > Call settings > Additional call settings > Additional settings > Caller ID > Hide number I tried "watchsettings on" to find out what setting it is, but I didn't get anything back from the device. I guess this is because it seems to be a setting of the dialer application (com.android.dialer) or phone services application (com.android.phone) and not of the regular device settings. After reading a bit about this on Google, I came across a few people struggling with the same issue. They seem to be able to open the "Additional settings" part by using the following intent: Intent additionalCallSettingsIntent = new Intent("android.intent.action.MAIN");ComponentName distantActivity = new ComponentName("com.android.phone", "com.android.phone.GsmUmtsAdditionalCallOptions");additionalCallSettingsIntent.setComponent(distantActivity);startActivity(additionalCallSettingsIntent); But they still rely on the user to manually select "Caller ID" and "Hide number". I'd rather not go through this struggle, as truck drivers aren't the most tech savvy and I've got no feasible way of verifying whether the Caller ID is actually hidden. So... any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi Everyone, can anyone provide information how to deal with paid apps / licenses on managed Google Play accounts? Right now i am not able to either add paid apps or to use the In-App functionality of some applications as the purchasing process won't start. Kind Regards, Markus
Hi there :) I´m having a weird issue. Some of my handheld devices (TC700H) are showing a blank screen on the lockdown screen. We are using 3 apps and none of them are showing. We can put in the admin password and all of the apps are there. The devices are running android 4.4.3 and Soti 14.1.2.1937 If the devices are restarted sometimes they go directly to the blank lockdown screen, or they do not lock down at all. Any ideas?
Is there a way to identify and report on a bluetooth peripheral device (e.g. RS6000) paired with Managed Android device TC56 enrolled into MobiControl RS6000 is not a device enrolled into MobiControl.
In the web console, I am trying to sort a group based on information from a custom data rule. The custom data is a route number, and I have it set up to collect the data as an integer not a string. However, when I sort the group based on the route number column, it treats the number as text. For example it will sort the route numbers like this: 1, 11, 2, 21, 3, 31. What I would expect from sorting integers it to have it sort like this: 1, 2, 3, 11, 21, 31. Is there a way to have the group sorting act in this fashion? I am using MobiControl 13.4.0.4962. The devices each have an ini file with the route number information. A data collection rule takes that info and assigns it to the device in the web console.

Hi, is there support for DevicePolicyManager.html#setLockTaskPackages() configuration ? I expect to provide list of package names that would be permitted to enter lock task mode (SOTI mobicontrol agent just need to call DPC.setLockTaskPackages() with given list) https://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/admin/DevicePolicyManager.html#setLockTaskPackages(android.content.ComponentName,%20java.lang.String[])
Vivo Y53 device is supported in MobiControl version 13 but not in V14?
Hello everyone. I just enrolled a Moto E4 Plus smartphone using Android for Work (Device Owner). There are two persistent notifications that I want to hide (image attached): - An application has special access to your device. No idea how to hide this, without hidding all Android System notifications. - Account action required. Should I delete the Android Enterprise account after I enroll it? (We do not use a managed account, we let the user configure their own). Thanks in advance, Max.
Hi, 1st time post, go easy on me...I have a device which is managed by Mobicontrol. My client has been asking for some changes to the lockdown/kisok mode, one of which has resulted in complete loss of connectivity. The device just states 'the process com.android.phone has stopped'I am unable to manage the device from SOTI because it cannot connect. The policy also prevents the end user from accessing Settings, prevents factory reset and on top of this it's low on space. So I'm in a position where it would appear I've bricked a customers tablet and he wants it back like last week.I feel that the only way to get past the now not-talking MDM is by rooting but, I can't unlock the bootloader nor can I enable ADB.I've tried re-flashing the firmware using ODIN but I'm proper stuck. My idea is that if I can gain root, I can then re-flash OEM firmware.Any advice?
Is there a way to export FileSync rule logs? In order to have a list of which devices were synced? I've tried getting this information through a report, but no success. I just need the log that is visible below each FileSync rule, exported as xls or csv.
Some other EMM vendors claimed support for a maximum of 256 in their products. What are the limits for MobiControl v13.x and v14.x?
Hi all, I understand that SOTI has a send SMS function, that I'd like to utilize. However, our chosen network provider blocks the functionality that is used to read the number from the SIM itself. Is there any way for me to set the number manually? Or better still import them? I had previously asked our provider to assist, and they imported a list. However, I now recognize this was a custom field "Phone_Number" and as such is not able to be used to access the send SMS functionality. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks, Seb
Hi Before I raise a ticket I thought I'd ask here. I have some reports that were built when we were using 13.3.3. I could see and update to my heart's content in the scheduled panel for that report. We upgraded to 14.1 the other month and I need to update the recipients but I can no longer see it the schedule (but the report still runs on time). I can add new reports and see them but not the old ones. Any suggestions? I'll bring doughnuts.
