Is support for the HTML5 Remote Control deprecated in v14? I select Web-based at this prompt but it launches the desktop app instead: EDIT: I don't think my picture attached correctly.
Hi all, We are currently rolling out 18x Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (running Android 7.0) to our drivers. The main purpose of these devices is to allow our drivers to use an app called PTV Navigator. This app has a bunch of additional content it uses such as maps, voice speakers and other assorted maps. I have been able to successfully push out all the necessary packages for the PTV Navigator to work EXCEPT all of the maps.In total, the maps files are around 5GB in size and is taking around 4-5 hours to push and install on the tablets via the MobiControl Cloud service. The map files are absolutely necessary for PTV Navigator to work, otherwise it defeats the purpose. My question is, what is the most efficient and quickest way to get these map files onto the device? Keeping in mind there will be map upgrades in the future that will also need to be pushed to the tablets. What I have tried: 1) Pushing the map files through MobiControl Cloud takes around 4-5 hours as previously stated. 2) Copy the map files from the SD card to internal storage using a script and then push out a profile with the same files. I would think MobiControl would automatically recongise the files are already on the tablet, so it would just mark the profile as "Installed". This is not the case as according to SOTI support, it does not have any hash or checksum on the files and only reads the last modified date. 3) Attempted to force PTV Navigator to read the map files from the SD card and then later on swap out the SD card with updated maps. PTV Navigator is refusing to read maps stored on SD card. 4) Use an app called AndSMB to copy the map files from a local NAS, but this was super slow as well! Please help with this enquiry. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. B
For example, if I have two file sync rules targeting the same device and scheduled to run at certain time maybe I just want one of them to run when I send the "sync files now" command.
In some cases I need to push out 300mb+ files to Android devices to perform firmware updates. Is there any way to get visibility into the percentage downloaded from the the SOTI server? I often don't know how much of an update has been downloaded until it actually starts executing.
If a device is not able to check-in agentlessly with MobiControl, it essentially means it cannot be managed. It would be nice to have a troubleshooting procedure for this kind of scenario.
Doze mode is delaying and blocking a lot of the actions I send down to my devices. Is there a way to get around it?
From the Mobicontrol Online help, under the section "Android+ Device Lockdown" I realized that it is possible to create a link and give access to users for executing Mobicontrol action: - action:// - Executes a MobiControl action. To change the device password, use action://CHANGE_DEVICE_PASSWORD. To configure WiFi, use action://CONFIGURE_WIFI. is there any other action that can be used, I could not find any more information from the Online help.
The folder exists and we have write permission
is it possible to create a profile with black- and whitelists for devices with android + that you can activate to a specific time? Since we use MobiControl in schools it would be advantageous to activate those profiles for certain lessons. A function like that is already available for the application of rules but not for profiles
Hello! Is it possible to set up EAS communication via ERG? The EAS server is situated behind the ERG servers. ERG URL is: erg.comany.com, OWA URL is: owa.company.com The EAS configuration profile for the devices should have the erg url inside, right? I do not know how to implement this on ERG servers (IIS). The documentation provided by SOTI is not enough in my opinion. Does anybody have a similar setup and is able to help? Thanks in advance! Simon
I mean Developer Options in Settings via feature control profile maybe (not Disable USB Debugging)
There are seemingly twice as many Device Properties under the Filter Criteria options for Virtual Groups as there are under Profile Assignments. Why is there a disparity between the two? If there was a use case to build out support for a property value in one, then wouldn't the same use case inherently exist in the other? OEMVersion was only just added to the Profile Assignment options in a recent maintenance build for 13.3 despite it being an option for Virtual Groups for quite some time.
After seeing a preview of v14 at Sync 17 I couldn't help but notice the somewhat jarring experience of having to toggle between the two different UI views (legacy & material/modern). Is it a safe assumption that the rest of the UIs will be refreshed as well?
The communication which occurs in MobiControl including the HTTP communication which occurs at the time of a renewal of a pattern file of anti-virus. Can we specify the proxy server in the Mobicontrol server and agent settings?
We have instances of configuration files stored in the JSON format instead of XML format on the device. Can we parse that data into a "Custom Data" value associated with the device so that it can be a Filter Criteria attribute?
