Is it possible to change the network name via SOTI?

Hello everybody, I have the CC6000 tablets from Zebra here. We have a standard for naming devices in our network. Currently they are displayed on the DHCP server with android23ab23ab23ab, for example. But I would like to rename it to ZebraDevice01 for example. Is there a function to do this directly via SOTI or possibly via a script command? I have already tried to do this via the developer options. Unfortunately, this is not possible on the tablets. In addition, given the number of devices, that would be very tedious. Thank you for your help.Pascal

Zebra TC70 with Android version 5.1.1 unable to use AFW#mobicontrol? Solved Locked

Greetings, We currently have Zebra TC52's and Samsung Galaxy Tab A that we enroll with no issue and use our Managed Google Play store, but our Zebra TC70's were AOSP devices and were unable to take advantage of the Managed google play store. I have upgraded a TC70 to Android 5.1.1 and switched to a GMS build, following Zebras release note instructions. When I try to use the AFW#mobicontrol tag in the device setup I am prompted with "Android version on this Device is not compatible with work accounts." Everything I can find says that this version of Android should be supported. Is there another avenue to getting these devices on our Managed google play? Are specific devices potentially not supported? Greatly appreciate any insight, and please let me know if I can provide any additional information. Thanks!

Android auto allow access to USB device

Hi We're using SOTI Mobicontrol on Zebra TC56 and VC80X with Android 8.1. I have the devices locked down and only allow one custom app. This app uses a USB camera and a USB RTK GNSS receiver. The problem is, every time the Zebra is rebooted, it asks if I want to allow the app access to the USB devices. Checking the box "Use by default for this USB device" doesn't help as the camera gets a new ID on every reboot. Is there a way to auto allow access to USB devices, or to disable the USB security completely so the user don't see any dialog boxes? Also, it asks if I want to automatically open the app when the USB device is connected, It would be nice if I could get rid of this dialog box as well.

Zebra TC57 - Scan function is disabled

When taking the device out of the box, the device has a wedge app that can able you to test it out.  You can also take any app that will accept a scan and it will work. When I install the Mobicontrol agent, it strips away all apps that enable the scan function.  Now when i go to a test app to scan something, no laser will show when the side buttons are pressed.  Why would the agent strip that function away?

    Android Enterprise Agent Version 14.3.3.1004

Hello, has someone already experience with the new Version 14.3.3.1004 of the AE Agent ? It is offered since some days in the MobiControl Agent Updates, but in the online release notes there is still just the 14.3.2.1050 Version available. Till now I found one new feature, on Zebra Android 8 and up Devices it displayed the MX version in Device Details, already before the Zebra Device Plugin is installed. GreetingsMartin

OS Update has failed to install. Please assure you have the correct package

I am currently in the process of updating the OS on 100 radios. For the most part is has been pretty smooth. I created a package that includes the HE Full update, as well as the incremental update. I have a script included in the package to install the HE Full update, since that needs to be installed first. Then I have a task scheduler profile set up with the script to install the incremental update the next day. The HE Full update installed successfully on each device. The incremental update successfully installed on almost all of the devices but a few (I think they were disconnected from the WIFI). So I sent a script manually to install the incremental update on those few devices. I had no issues with the installation on those few, except for 1 of the devices. For the 1 device that is having issues, I keep receiving an error message stating "OS Update has failed to install. Please assure you have the correct package". I am positive I have the correct package, and it says the profile and package are installed on the device. All 100 devices are the same model, Zebra TC8300. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a way to set the language of the Enterprise Keyboard with Mobicontrol independend of the language of Android itself ?

Hello, I have to set with the help of MobiControl to get the same result as doing manually with system->language->virtual keyboard->not use system language->set required language. Devices are Zebra TC52 with Android 10 and AEDO. Also in the Zebra Enterprise Keyboard API/MX I didnt find a way to do that beside creating a whole new custom keyboard layout, but for just one setting doing a new layout is hugh effort. Martin

Offline Android device not enrolling - Invalid URL

Hello, I have a few devices that i can enroll as a work profile but not as an enterprise device. We require the enterprise solution so we can remote control the devices if and when they need some troubleshooting. Our MobiControl server sits on xxx.xxx.53.53 and the Zebra MC93s are situated on a closed WiFi Network that gives the device xxx.xxx.55.124 Both IPs are reachable from both sides. I can ping the server from the Android device and i can ping the device from the 53 subnet. The WiFi that the scanners are has no internet connection and is an internal network. I asked the question before if anyone has come across being unable to enroll devices and i was told that there should be no issue enrolling these scanners on a network that is on our own WAN with no internet connection. We are unable to give the devices internet connection due to security policies in the warehouses we are located. Our enrollment server address that the rule generates is xxx.xxx.53.108 but when i try the server address on the enrollment part of the MobiControl app on the device, it throws a "Invalid URL" prompt. When using the Enrollment ID i just get an "Enrollment Failed" message. Does anyone have any pointers i can try?

Unable to enroll Android Zebra MC93 into Mobicontrol as an enterprise device

Hi, I have spent the last few days speaking back and forth with support and am now looking for if anyone else has had these issues. When I run through the initial setup of the Scanners (Zebra MC9300) I am told by the MobiControl guide to use the afw#mobicontrol when asked for a google account. This works, and MobiControl is installed. This issue then is when trying to enroll the device into our MobiControl server the enrolment fails, using the SSID we use for all the scanners on our estate. Using the Enrolment ID or URL does not allow us to enroll. The SSID we use for our scanners is locked down from internet usage because of where they are situated and internet access on any device is prohibited. Now the fun part. I am told that the devices NEED internet access to contact the deployment server to enroll the devices, BUT when I skip all of the initial setup and install the APK from the MobiControl Agent site, I can enroll the device, it comes into MobiControl and I am able to configure profiles and such. The only issue is we can only remote VIEW the devices. Now most of these devices are on remote sites (we are in UK, Warehouses are in France) therefore we need to be able to remote control the device to troubleshoot any issues that may arise. I am told that the devices need to be enrolled as enterprise devices in order to be able to remote control them and even when manually installing the APK it should enroll as a enterprise device rather then just a work profile.I tried also to set up the StageNow application but was unsuccessful to get it to stage using a barcode. Has anyone got any ideas or scenarios that are similar? TIA
