I tested Samsung KME for some Samsung test devices running Android+ device agent a few months ago. Does such support also exist when using Android Enterprise device-agent running in Managed-Device mode? If so, does it have the same problem as KME with Android+ device agent, namely that the device end-user has the option of not agreeing to some Samsung Knox licensing conditions and can exit the KME normal flow of enrolling to the predefined MDM/EMM server after factory-reset? Is anyone in Soti working on solving this issue, which render the KME feature useless for device theft protection against abnormal/unauthorized device factory reset? Samsung guys confirmed with me that other MDM/EMM solutions do not have this licensing prompt pop-up on the device screen and thus have no such issue.
I am trying to find a convenient solution for forcing our Samsung XCover 3 and Xcover 4 devices to use only 3G-connections. We have about 500 devices, so it is not in my best interest to do that manually... The reason behind this, is that our version of the MobiControl-cloud is 13.0 and it seems that it doesn't fully support the 4G -connections. Or at least all the phones using the 4G-connections seems to be offline in the Web Console. So is there any way to do this remotely?
I'm encountering an error when deploying my app package "Failed to install application null from package". I have 15 phones. 14 are Nokia's and one is a Samsung Galaxy XCover 4. On the Nokia's everything works fine, the package installs. On the Samsung it fails. The devices are set up for Android for Work and enrolled in Soti as Android Plus devices. I have enabled "Unknown Sources", and there is no Google Play Protect on the phone. The phone is running Android 7.0. Has anyone come across this error before?
Hi I'm arranging with SOTI to upgrade from 13.3.3 to 14.2. All devices on platform are Samsung and all agents are the ELM version. So I have one silly question that people here might be able to answer... When I upgrade the device agents will the users have to go through Device admin policy pending and Licence activation pending screens again? It's so I can send out any necessary instructions to the users.
On modern Android 7 (and higher) Samsung devices, the application "com.samsung.android.contacts" is responsible for both calling (as a dialer) and contact management. It's got two different shortcuts, which are both present on the default desktop. I'm trying to display both shortcuts on a SOTI lockdown, but I'm having trouble displaying the dialer part. Do you know what I can put into the lockdown settings to have them both displayed properly? At first I tried the following: Phone > Launch://com.android.phoneContacts > Launch://com.samsung.android.contacts This displays the shortcuts correctly but when the user presses Phone, they get the error message "Package [com.android.phone] does not contain default activity)". This makes sense because the default activity for calling should be 'com.samsung.android.contacts', which is the only application available for that purpose. Yet when I use: Phone > Launch://com.samsung.android.contactsContacts > Launch://com.samsung.android.contacts This results in the lockdown displaying both the icon and the functionality of the Samsung contacts, yet no dialer. Our customer is asking for the dialer and wants it directly available for their truck drivers. Another option that didn't work was: Launch://com.samsung.android.contacts/.DialtactsActivity I've tried various intents as well but to no avail. For example: intent:#Intent;action=com.samsung.android.contacts.ACTION_DIAL;endintent:#Intent;action=("com.samsung.android.contacts","com.android.dialer.DialtactsActivity");end Do you have an idea how I can still reach the dialer part of com.samsung.android.contacts and display it on the SOTI lockdown? We're using the cloud-based version of MobiControl 14.1.0.1152. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have an Android tablet that is in a continuous reboot cycle. Every time I power on the tablet, it will boot up normally until it starts to launch MobiControl, at which point the tablet restarts and then gets stuck in that cycle. I think this tablet was connected to a dev Mobi instance that is no longer online when I was testing an upgrade process. How can I interrupt this process as we have a tablet that is rendered useless at this point. Thanks
Hello, I would really appreciate your help with the following issue: Is it possible to configure the wifi hotspot timeout? We use the hotspot profile configuration and it works fine, but the default timeout is set to 20 minutes, and we need it to be always active. Thank you
When will the skin for the Note 8's be functional - I am unable to use the HTML remote control, keeps using the legacy plugin which I am unable to do anything on this phone.
