How to Grant Permission on a specific category of silent notification on Android 13

There an app running on Android 13 that requires permission to send silent notification for a specific category. The android agent is 15.3.4.1113 running as enterprise. The end user, even with no profile or rules has access to change such permission. We are able to enable and disable the silent notification by script:  afw_set_permission_grant_state it.overit.enelsaopaulowfm  android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS allow The issue is that the notifications from this app has specific category and we are not able to control it by script or end user. The "diversos" that means several, comes enabled when we send the script  : afw_set_permission_grant_state it.overit.enelsaopaulowfm  android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS allow I would need to enable the permission to "Notificações de Sincronização" (sync notifications). Is there a way to send a script in order to enable a category of notification ? Is there a way to grant end user the control this permission by himself ?

File upload failed into Android/data folder Solved

Good evening, I'm looking for a solution in order to transfer files through a File Sync rule into this folder: /sdcard/Android/data/it.dedagroup.stealth.movements/files/ Basically it is a configuration file that the app (it.dedagroup.stealth.movements) reads once it is launched. During my preliminaty tests with the remote control I found out that I don't have the privileges to write into the data folder, see screenshot below: I have the same result from both remote control options (plugin and web). Will this impair the file transfer even with the File Sync rule?  Is there any way to grant the writing permission to this folder? Below some details: SOTI MobiControl instance version: 15.6.0.1018 Agent version: 15.3.2.1042 Plugin version: 1.19.2.118 Enrollment type: Work Managed Producer: Honeywell Model: EDA52 Android version: 11 Thank you, best regards.

Honeywell CT60 and CK65 devices running Android 11, MobiControl unable to modify data in ..\Android\data due to Android security/privacy changes Solved

We leverage MobiControl to manage our CK65s and CT60s. We also leverage Staylinked SmartTE and have historically pushed the staylink.ini file located in "%sdcard%/Android/data/com.staylinked.AndroidClient" using a MobiControl package so that it can establish the initial Staylinked sever connection. As of Android 11, MobiControl can no longer push files to the "../Android/data" directory. I had come across this on the Honeywell support site: https://support.honeywellaidc.com/s/article/Android-11-permission-required-for-Workspace-One-Agent-SotiAgentBut this doesn't seem to work for the CT60 or CK65.Staylinked allows you to manage the SmartTE config once connected, but we need to be able to pusht he server address via the staylink.ini file prior to it taking control.Soti is currently working a case on this.I have a ticket into Honeywell.I have a support request with Staylinked.I also have some help coming from a VAR we purchased the equipment through. So now I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone has had any luck with this at this point? One of the issues is that when the Honeywell firmware package is pushed to upgrade the devices from 10 to 11, it seems like the SmartTE config is also wiped out as the application is updated.Unfortunately, I'm running out of ideas short of a firmware rollback, which isn't something I want to worry about later since 80 of these devices have yet to be deployed. It'd be incredibly helpful to get them on the latest version of Android for the device prior to deployment.

Android Classic how to grant permission on an Android application ?

Hello, Actually i'm facing an issue, i have install an application on my Android device but when I try to launch it for the first time it required some right that i need to add manually. I saw some topics that talk about that but it's not really detail : https://discussions.soti.net/tagged/app-permissions/ https://discussions.soti.net/thread/android-permission-script-afw_set_permission_policy/   https://discussions.soti.net/thread/differnt-behaviour-when-installing-with-mxconfig-and-app-permissions/ In this topic they talk about renaming an apk like tellnext.apk to tellnext.apk_ but they don't share us the command line to did that. I'm working on Zebra WT6000 android 7.1.1 lifeguard 19 - Android classic profile Do you know a command line to grant persmissions to access files/microphones/caméra/etc.. ? I saw some command line for android enterprise like that but it doesn't work on android classic : I don't want to enable access manually on each devices. Some have a solution maybe ? Thanks in advance,

Selfmade App - How can I set the MobiControl permission in this case? Solved Locked

Hey there! I'm not sure that this is the right subject for here... Our software department is currently developing an app that displays specific information about our CT60 devices. We also implemented a menu item that allows the user to switch the flashlight on / off and change the screen brightness. Problem: The app behaves completely normal after the start. When I switch to the page with the configuration possibilities the app trys to check the permissions. All permissions are set. The only problem I have is the "Modify system settings" of MobiControl permission. I don't know if its only a permission problem of the Agent or if I grant permissions to the new application. SOTI Agent permission fix? Solved

When will be there an update to the SOTI Agent to solve following problem (Android 8 and maybe above): From Matt Dermody: Granted, this assumes that writesecuresetting is even working on your Android 8 Zebra devices which has been somewhat of a crapshoot recently. The SOTI Agent needs to have the permission granted in order to have the ability to apply secure settings. That permission is seemingly granted by the installation of the OEM Plugin which from experience seems to be inconsistent in doing so. SOTI staff has indicated that version 1.16 of the plugin is needed in order to truly resolve the issue of having that permission silently granted but as of now only version 1.6 is hosted on the downloads page and 1.12 is hosted within the Plugin Service of newer MobiControl instances.  We need that fix, for a zero-touch rollout.

Please give usage stats permission - How anyone found a way to automatically allow this permission?

Hi all,  I am still experiencing the problem where Android Enterprise devices (SOTI Agents) are asking for manual agreement of the usage stats permission. This is on all makes and models of smartphones and tablets that I have. (e.g. LG/SONY/Samsung/Zebra)  I also use the latest agents and plugins with SOTI v14.3.4 (on-prem). I have with testing found that there are triggers which seem to force the agent to request the permission are; - Various items in a Data Collection Rule - A script / profile using manualblacklist Has anyone found any other triggers or how to automatically approve the permission?  The info at https://discussions.soti.net/kb/unable-to-obtain-usage-access-permission-silently-on-android-enterprise does not help unfortunately. I am moving to Zero-Touch and so I need to reduce the complications that end users will have. John.

Enabling data usage monitoring permission on Samsung devices

When I set up a data usage monitor under Rules > Telecom Expense Management, the newer Samsung devices require an elevated permission for the device agent to monitor data usage. This is under device settings which are not accessible as all the devices are heavily locked down, single-use devices.  Is there a way to enable the permission en masse through Mobicontrol?

is it possible to setup afw#mobicontrol with older mobicontrol version?

hi, We recently had to re-configure replacement Blackberry KeyOne for some of our users and we're having alot of issue with permissions, ie Blackberry hub could not be granted permission. Due to this, we're not able to setup email, contacts. The current workaround is to use Outlook app for the email but contacts, calendar would not work. It appears that a newer version of mobicontrol is being installed. so, is it possible to setup afw#mobicontrol with older mobicontrol version? our existing KeyOne users do not have this permission issue.  any other alternatives?  on a separate note, when setup with afw#mobicontrol on our Blackberry phone, bluetooth contact sync never worked due to permission(greyed out). appears to be related. our server version is 13.4 any assistance is appreciated.
