MENKES DEVELOPMENTS LTD

hi,

We recently had to re-configure replacement Blackberry KeyOne for some of our users and we're having alot of issue with permissions, ie Blackberry hub could not be granted permission. Due to this, we're not able to setup email, contacts. The current workaround is to use Outlook app for the email but contacts, calendar would not work. It appears that a newer version of mobicontrol is being installed. so, is it possible to setup afw#mobicontrol with older mobicontrol version? our existing KeyOne users do not have this permission issue.  any other alternatives?

on a separate note, when setup with afw#mobicontrol on our Blackberry phone, bluetooth contact sync never worked due to permission(greyed out). appears to be related.

our server version is 13.4

any assistance is appreciated.

Hi Ming,

As per your inquiry what "newer version" of the MobiControl agent is being installed?  What was the version you were expecting/hoping to be installed?

As I go through this reply I believe you are requesting to install an agent older than the one you are currently getting from the Playstore when you use afw#mobicontrol on the devices in question.

One of our other moderators is looking into the possibility of injecting the older agent into the DB and selecting this during the default rule creation to be used with the Enterprise enrollment.  Hopefully this can work for the issue you are experiencing.

Other than that you may need to create a case at support@soti.net and we can report these issues to our development team to have them fixed in the next release of the Blackberry Enterprise Agent.

Hi,

Currently, agent version 13.6 gets installed automatically via afw#mobicontrol and it appears to have lots of issue with Blackberry Android devices relating to permissions. The older version 13.3 worked very well except the bluetooth contacts permission. I did a test with another Keyone setup with Android for Work (non managed) and it's the same issue if I get the agent via the Google play store as it is the latest version. We wiped the phone again and installed the 13.3 apk manually and we longer have those permission issue. This is just a temporary workaround for now and because it's not managed device, it's not ideal setup.
