Hi all, After installing the latest windows updates and restarting the Server, the MobiControl Search Service couldn´t be started anymore because "the host refused the connection". After reinstalling the same version of MobiControl the MobiControl Search Service starts properly, but our devices cant keep up the connection to our server. In the device logs it says, that every device do connect to the server, but cant even keep it up for a second (this happens every 10 sec for all devices): Furthermore we are not able to enroll new devices, kinda bad because we got some new iPhones for our employees and they cant enroll them... MobiControl Version: 15.3.1.1151 OS: Microsoft Server 2019 MS SQL Version: 15.0.4123.1 Devices: iOS14 +, Android 4.4.4 and 9, WindowsCE6 and 7
We have a facility using Windows CE Apps that connect with Oracle. We need to move them off of the old Windows 9090 and 9091 devices they are using now and get them on Zebra TC72 devices. Does anyone know of an emulator I can run on Android to run these native Windows CE apps? Thank you!

Hi. Pertaining to windows ce devices.... If I use abortpkg in prei script, it marks it as Failed to Install (Prescript Abort) in the device configuration tab. When it checks-in during the next scheduled update, will it try to re-install the package automatically (i do have it set to auto-install in the profile|assign|options tab)? If not, any idea how I can get it to re-try those failed installs automatically during next scheduled checkin/update? tia.
Hi All, I am facing an issue after upgrading to v14. Devices with OS as Windows Embedded CE 6.0 are trying to connect to the deployment server but they are getting reset and not showing up on the Management Console. Below is the log for the same. Please help me resolve this. Can device names be changed after they've been enrolled (provisioned) into soti mobicontrol)? I only have access thru the web console.
Is there a better way to manage folders and files other than the File Manager interface? As it stands now, you have to manually (re)create folders one-by-one as well as uploading files one-by-one. Maybe a better way such as ftp ??... Any thoughts or ideas or options here?
I attended the SOTI partner event and I could swear that they said a brand new install of MobiControl version 13 would not have some of the components (ex. TLS 1.0) to support Windows Mobile/CE devices. It was suggested that the best way to support Windows Mobile/CE was to start with a version prior to 13 and then upgrade to 13. Are there any documents out there that can clarify this situation? Thanks much.
My customer uses an Wifi environment, where each devices is identified by a static address. We now need to bring in around 50 new devices an need to set an individual static ip therefore. I pushed a fusion profile to each device, but how can I individually set the static IP? I do not hope that a need to create 50 separate profiles for this? Thanks for any hint on that
I have been working with some older handhelds trying to get them into our production environment however I have run into a snag regarding the lockdown feature. The device is an Symbol/Motorola MC3190 Gun style device running CE OS 6, we currently run the same model in prod with OS 6.5 classic with the same lockdown screen, no issues whatsoever. The OS 6 device will install the lockdown but after the install the device is running extremely slow. If allowed to sit overnight the device crashes indicating it ran out of memory and asks to close applications. A cold reboot fixes the issue temporarily but will repeat the crash if allowed to stay on kiosk mode. We use the custom navigation bar options for our lockdown configuration. If I disable the custom lockdown config on the OS 6 devices it no longer crashes and performs very well even if left to sit for extended periods of time connected to the deployment server. I have validated this crash occurs on multiple devices running CE OS 6. I was hoping someone might be able to help provide insight into this issue. Thanks
Whenever I try to remote control a Windows CE device, I am prompted to download and install the remote control plug-in (SotiRemoteControlInstaller.ms) and then restart my browser. Things worked for several months & then it suddenly fails. This is now the second machine with exactly the same behaviour. Sometimes, killing the SotiRemoteControlLauncher.exe & restarting the browser works, sometimes not. Similar to this issue, my remote control sessions do not work. Unfortunately, I am using Internet Explorer 11 and not google Chrome. the work around suggested in that thread does not work for me. Soti MobiControl: v13.3.0.3851 Desktop OS: Windows 10 v1709 (build 16299.492) Browser: IE 11, MS Edge, Google Chrome 67.0.xxx)
I need to uninstall an application on 260 of my 500 Zebra MC55 Windows Mobile/CE devices. I used the search provided by the MobiControl console to specify those 260 devices. The 260 devices are all in different device groups. Deployed a package which contained the uninstall script to 1 test device via a profile and it worked without any errors. I was thinking to create a new filtered group and put all devices that need the uninstall in there but there is no way to assign a Profile to filtered or virtual groups? Whats the "best way" to target only those 260 devices and uninstall the application via a MobiControl script? Thanks! Regards, Michael
