Hello, I am having a problem enrolling Huawei Mate 9 Lite devices.

First, the problem was that after enrolling 1 device, the next one could not be enrolled because "Device ID already exist".

I opened a case on SOTI, where I was told to update to version 13.4.0.4591 (previoulsy, it was 13.4.0.4266).

After the update, this is what happened:

I enroll Device 1, it enrolls ok with device id 1234.

I enroll Device 2, it enrolls ok with device id 1234, and Device 1 dissapear.

I unenroll Device 2, it unenrolls ok, and Device 1 appear again.

Sometimes, I enroll other device, with no problem at all, and sometimes it keeps saying "duplicate device id".

Any idea what is going on?

* I tried enrolling using .ini, url, code, etc.

* I have no intention of using Android Enterprise.

Thanks in advance,

Maximiliano.

ANSWERS

Hi Maximiliano,

Apparently the method used to enroll devices has been affected by a change made in the OS and therefore this has happened with some Android devices during enrollment.   Our developers are currently making changes to address this however we have a few workarounds in the support department that we can supply to get the devices back on track.

As this may involve scripts not in our helpfile please create a case at support@soti.net and we can assist you with them to get the devices individually enrolled.  Once created please message me with the case number and I can ensure they have the correct ones to assist you.

There may be a few different workarounds that may be posted in this forum that can do the trick.  Raymond may even have one for you before you create the case but it will still be beneficial to create the case to ensure your devices are included in the overall fix.

Cheers,

What is your device firmware version and build number?

What are the device agent version, build number and API version on the device successfully enrolled?

What is the device name pattern defined in your add-devices rule?

Have you tried adding a new Add-device rule after the server upgrade?  If so, did you get the same symptom with the new rule?

Does your problem repeat for many Huawei Mate 9 Lite devices?  Did you experience same problem for other device brand(s)/model(s)?

What MDM test policies did you successfully deployed on the device to confirm that the device enrolled is 100% OK and the device is under control?

Yes, tried with 3 different rules, with different settings, the problema keeps happening randomly.

Yes, they are all brand new, sometimes I unenroll it, and enroll it again and it is solved, but sometimes it replaces an old device.

Tried Lockdown and Package install successfully.
