Unable to move devices, enrol devices, assign apps

Hi

I have a ticket open with SOTI Support on this already and have not seen this issue before so I thought I'd ask the wider community.

Has anyone ever come across an issue where they are unable to move devices between groups?  You drag and drop to new group but the device path does not update.

We are also unable to enrol devices and we cannot even directly assign apps - you can navigate to the device or group but when you press Assign it spins busy then goes back to showing assign.

We can still see devices, we can still remote onto them and we can still send messages and scripts.

HI Eddie,

could  it be that you have a "Device Relocation Rule" activated?

Then will be auto move dthe Devices to a specific Goup and moved allways back when you tra to move it to an other Folder.

Or did you had pressed after manual Relocating the "check in"Botton?

To refresh the Device vlaues?

Hi Marcus

If only that was the case haha.

There are no relocation rules in place.

SOTI had us up and running yesterday, Thursday, but we're down again.  No ability to move and all devices have gone offline.  Deployment server woes.

They think there is an issue with version 15.5.

Watch this space.

Hi Eddie,

you have checked the Permissions?

i see in Relase 15.5.0

  • In SOTI MobiControl version 15.5.0 onwards, “GetDeviceGroupConfiguration” and “ApplyDeviceGroupConfiguration” APIs will require “Configure Devices/Device Groups” permission. This permission is automatically assigned to MobiControl Administrators, MobiControl Technicians and MobiControl Viewers roles. Custom roles must have the “Configure Devices/Device Groups” permission granted manually.

Or may have a look an Upgrade to 15.5.2.

We use this Relaes and have only Problems with the Search service sometimes :D

Only have seen this if an relocation rule is in place just putting the device instantly back to the folder because the relocation rule takes place but never saw this without one.
