We have Zebra TC21's running Android 13. One of the requests from our business team is that the keyboard be configured to not use the suggestion strip, and have the number keys there instead.
This is very simple if you have the phone.
Keyboard Setting => Text Correction => Show Suggestions (off).
I cannot however find a way to do that through SOTI. Anyone done this before?
You can approve Gboard as a managed Google Play app in App Policies and then enable Managed Configurations in order to administer the settings of Gboard.
You will need to have an Android Enterprise Binding configured and service accounts assigned to the devices. The devices will also need access to Google Play in order to receive the configurations.
Well, almost. These are on prem devices that can't connect to google play store.
About this, my GBoard apps are missing the option for managed configurations all of a sudden? Am I the only one? MC is at Version: 2025.0.2.1059 and our prod instance with the same issue is at Version: 2024.1.2.1046 even though I don't expect MC to be the issue. Could it be Google remove the app config options or should we deliver the config JSON ourselves now?
No, we are on 2024.1.1.1058 and we can see the app config data for the gboard app from playstore.
Maybe sort out changes on network/firewall if the Mobicontrol Servers can't fetch the relevant data anymore.

Funny, we see this issue now as well (not sure why i was able to seee it before still).
And in addition i also tried with a new app policy, same: app config is empty.
So, they really might have removed the managed app config.
