Zebra TC78 -> How to enroll ?

Hello all,

We have mobicontrol on version 15.5.1.1010

We have some device Zebra TC58 with android 11 and we enroll these device with this procedure.

device out of box

init device

add wifi for internet connexion

at google enter afw#mobicontrol

continue init

re start device, add wifi private

start mobicontrol agent and enter enroll ID

device is well enrolled into mobicontrol in work managed

Now, we buy some device TC 78 into android 13 ...

If we try the same procedure it's not work ...

At the step of google when we type afw# ... after the flow asks the url of the enrollement of mobicontrol ..

But the flow stop because our environnement of soti isn t on internet  ...

how to enroll device TC78 with android 13 ?

I'm confused, to use a DPC identifier (afw#mobicontrol) your instance should be reachable from internet somehow. And why should the server reachable for TC58 using the DPC identifier but not for the TC78? 

That doesn't make sense.

In general i recommend to use Zebra StageNow for enrollment into MDM (it creates the relevant (encrypted) barcodes to be scanned by the devices in the welcome screen).
There you can also define (local) server adresses to point to and so on.

Hello rafael,

thanks for comment, the server is reachatable for TC58 because we change the wifi connexion

for init device, we choose a wifi who go outside

after init and agent downloaded and installed, we change the wifi by a private wifi.

For TC78, the problem is after enter afw the step pass directly to enter the url ...

That the reason ...

Ok,i will look for to find the procedure for to enroll into MDM with stage now ..

with stagenow you can link to a location where the agent is stored in the local network, so you can also use directly the final wifi.

Not entirely sure but i think Mobicontrol has it stored somewhere too, so you could use it directly from the server. But i don't know the path as we use zero-touch for enrollment which is always pointing to the one in playstore.

Agreed. I highly recommend using StageNow for enrollment into SOTI with Zebra Android devices. There is no better method and it provides you significantly more control. And it's the fastest! No manual interaction with the device. Just a couple of quick barcodes scans. DPC identifier is arguably the worst option for Zebra android given that many system apps will be disabled during the procedure, not to mention all of the manual interaction with the device that is required to move through all of the steps.
