Hi, 

SOTI 15.6.1.1048

Sql express 13

Our SOTI system works years without any problems. 

Now we need to upgrade the database to a newer one. But we found out that we don't know the password to connect to the database. Is it possible to find it somewhere?

Hi @Zdenek,

In addition to Martin, If you did not try yet, you may also try to use "Windows Authentication" to login the SQL server first by using server local admin account, and then create a new "sa" user with a different name such as "new_sa" and then give related "sa" permissions to this user and then you can use it during the process. I am not aware of any special MobiControl procedure to reset the passwort, but there are many guides to reset the sa user of a SQL Server 2016

I dont want to write here a specific link, but you will find a guide easily.

Hi Vojc,

have a look into the LOG what is placed on C:\DBINstall.log.

in prevously Versions it was there wirtten in Clear Text :(

Normaly it is the "SA" user.

When you did not know it you can try to change the PW with the SQL Server management Studio - but there it depends how you have the authentication ?

Windows Authentication or SQL Server authentication.
