SOTI unable to connect to DB - access denied

Hi,

     I was trying to access mobicontrol and was having issues so I went to the server and opened up mobicontrol administration utility. On launch, it asked for the databse connection information including username/password. I verified all that and test connection failed with "access denied". I made sure the sql server database was up(SQL 2016) and also verified I could log in with the sotimobilesql usenrmae and password. Anything else I can check? Is there a log where I can see more details about the access denied message?

Are you still running into this issue? I would suggest taking a backup of your environment and perhaps you can re-install MobiControl and re-enter the credentials for the database credentials. Perhaps there was a password changed for those credentials and is now having issues with getting synced with MobiControl Administration Utility.

If you continue to have this issue, I would recommend opening up a support ticket to further investigate.

Maybe there is some change in the network infrastructure or access permission (of account used to install MobiControl and MS SQL Server) that you have overlooked.

You can check for more details in the usual MS, DS & DSE server log files, accessible either from the web-console (in the same pull-down menu to check MobiControl version or license count/expiration) or from the last tab of MCadmin command-line utility running on the Windows Server hosting your MobiControl.
