SOTI Surf not downloading/opening PDFs

Hello.

We are using SOTI surf to display one of our Webapps on our tablets. Surf is configured with kiosk mode. Our problem is that the pdf files are not downloaded, and end-users cannot open them.

I tried the same link (for our webapp) in other browsers (Chrome, Edge) and with these, the files are downloaded, and opened with the pdf viewer.

Could this be a problem with Surf? Looking over settings but couldn't find anything..

Have you set up the "Allow Downloading of Files" &  "Download location"  option in your Android "Soti Surf" profile payload targeted to your ET51 devices?

Could you locate the pdf files downloaded by Chrome/Edge on your devices?  Have you set the above-mentioned "Download location" to use the same directory?  Please clarify whether the specified pdf file was not downloaded or the file was downloaded but not opened.

Allow Downloading of Files is turned on. For "Download location" i tried different locations like "Download", "sdcard/Download" or left blank, same result. As far as i see it, it doesn't download the file.

With Edge and Chrome, the files are downloaded in "Download" folder

Hi Alin,

I did a quick test by using my Samsung AE device with same surf version it's working well. Did you have any chance to disable the kiosk mode and try to download by opening Surf app again, is there any difference?

Have you tried to download a different file extension just to verify whether it's related to a specific file extention or not. Thank you

Zafer

I had more time today for this topic. As far as i see it's an issue from our web application.

Did some tests with a different website, and for that it works fine.

As far as i see untill now, with Chromium Webview it works without issues (Tested with Edge, Chrome, and Chromium on an AOSP device). When i try to launch it directly from lockdown (add new entry with https://mylink ), has the same behaviour (i think it's because Android System Webview).

We will have a propper debugging when developers are back.

Thanks in advance
